It will still slow cook but often the cooking time is cut down. If i want something quick (in slow cooker time like 3-4 hrs) i would use high.. if i'm leaving it over night or when i'm at work I put it on low

Thanks yeah I have it on for dinner maybe around 5-6ish.

Yup, I can do a nice beef stew in around 4-5 hours in the slow cooker if it's on high. I always add pasta to mine too!

mmmmm, soup.... I have been kind of craving some of my mom's borscht (cabbage soup) lately...... I do have her recipe but I am sure it won't come out quite the same as she makes it

i love using my slow cooker but mine is messed up.... if I put it on low for 8 hours the stuff is cooked in about 4 hours but if I put it on high for 4 hours, it is barely warmed through I think the wires are messed up or something.... maybe I can convince hubby to get me a new one for Christmas....

Still cooking but cut the time almost in half and you will get a lot more moisture build up.

We use Slow Cooker often Love using for Chili.

Ive got a nifty recipie for bread pudding in the ol crockie, if anyone's interested. It turns out quite well cooking dobule-time.
