A guy works at a new job on Thursday and Friday. On Monday he calls in and says, "I can't come in today. I'm sick."

He worked the rest of the week, but the following Monday he calls in and says, "I can't come in today. I'm sick." The boss asks the foreman about him, and the foreman says, "He's great. He does the work of two men. We need him."

So the boss calls the guy into his office, and says, "You seem to have a problem getting to work on Mondays. You're a good worker and I'd hate to fire you. What's the problem? Anything we can help you with? Drugs? Alcohol?"

The guy says, "No, I don't drink or do drugs. But my brother-in-law drinks every weekend, and then beats on my sister. So every Monday morning, I go over to make sure she's all right. She puts her head on my shoulder and cries, one thing leads to another, and the next thing you know, I'm screwing her."

The boss says, "You screw your sister?"

The guy says, "Hey, I told you I was sick."

that's gross hubby :bonk:

I couldn't possibly call in sick today because if I did so I wouldn't get paid for yesterday, plus calling sick on a Tuesday after a Monday holiday is so obvious

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

well I broke some ribs coughing...I called in for that one. I got sick from the tetanus shot my work required me to get and I called in for that one (I quit that job very quickly though). Normally I can't go to work super sick cos I'm a chef and Iwork with food so really I don't have any excuses

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

I'm not saying that I'll create an excuse to call in sick when I just need a day off, but I'm really interested in what you guys say when you do that. Who goes first?

We are PC correct downunder. We call the sickies "mental health days"..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

My family comes first and always will.

This is the general attitude in our office.

I remember when our baby was born - I was still fairly new with the company. There was a huge blow-up in the office the day she was born. I learned about that when I called in to let me boss now that our baby was born and that all went well in the hospital. So, I went in the next morning - early Tuesday - just to see what I can do within a couple of hours to help straighten things out. My boss' boss came along and asked me what I was doing there. I said that I just wanted to try and help. He asked if I happened to have a pic of my baby and I did. He took it, looked at it and then showed it to me saying: "This is the most important thing in your life from now until she's out of college. You have no business being here right now. You need to go to be with your wife and daughter now. Do not dare come back here for the remainder of this week. We'll manage. Take care of your wife and baby. And remember - and you can quote me on this: They always come first."

He's a great guy to have for a boss.

My job is very family oriented as well. We wont get occurrences if we call in bc of a family member like kids being sick. i was worried once when my son was having seizures and i missed work over it, they told me to stay home, take care of whats more important and they will see me when i return.
