haha!! I think it is!!

I honestly thought he was kind of a jerk when we met, and he thought the same of me. . . but we warmed up to each other quickly over a game of UNO where he kicked my butt.

I love UNO! That's funny, I remember playing a game of UNO with my fiance not too long before he proposed to me...it must be a romantic game!

Well, we also met online in Oct. 2006. He sent me a message that I didn't receive until the next day. When I did get it, I sent a reply which I rarely ever did. After that we talked every day since. We are a lot of alike in the way we think and things like that. It didn't take much to fall in love with him. Unfortunatly, I was only able to visit him 1 time. I'm a single mom with a home business that I can't leave for long. When I do leave, I don't get paid. That makes it really hard. Hopefully he'll be here soon and we'll be together forever (L)

As for VSC, I think we'll have approvals in February. They really are getting faster by what I've seen, so I'm being optimistic about that. As for NVC, I don't know. I guess they are backed up now too. but hopefully it won't be long after.

I hope CSC gets out of June and July soon. Right now, it looks like they have only worked on a couple of August dates for petitions. Like the rest of us, however, I think February is a real possibility! After the holidays, shouldn't things pick up at every center?!

I am always a little nervous about all the tragic disasters that California has been through. I pray they have no more for their sake and our progress/process gets back on a timely track again.

I said my story was boring, ( dating service... blah blah blah) but I will say, I e-mailed the Love of My Life, the day before her birthday. I hate to say I didn't even notice, :o but she wrote back that she took it as a present for her birthday and all I know is she has been the greatest gift in the world to me! :)

y'know, I bet they feel the same way... I think they're sick sick sick of July, and want to get on to the later months when they can knock whole weeks over in a single session ;)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

I think Feb for Oct filers is a very real possibility too. It all depends on how quickly they can get through the July filers. July is a *huge* month. If they can get through July, August and onwards will go fast.

I agree..

I hope so to but the only good thing about the wait is that it gives me time to save more cash for my trip there when she get her visa so we can fly back together.

I agree, I try creatively to think of things to do to sort of pass the time. One of them is preparation of a home she will like and of course as you said saving money. I had read that starting a saving account in both names is a good thing to have for our fiance' at the interview. It proves commitment, communication, planning, etc. Has anybody tried this and if so, how did you get their signatures or names on the account?

It also helps to know that we are moving when one of us gets a touch or an approval!

We actually have a list of the good things about this taking so long.

Sometimes you just need to be reminded of the silver linings.

More time for me to earn a strong euro wage before 3 odd months of no working

More time for me to spend with friends and family before emmigrating

More time for him to get his credit rating up before we try to buy a house

More time for him to play xbox without me nagging him to stop

More time to think of fun ideas for the wedding we're going to have to plan in 8 weeks

More time for both of us to get better at cooking since we won't be able to afford to eat out once I get there

If it gets delayed by the Japanese embassy, it'll push the wedding out of peak season, so flights will be cheaper for my family

Just gotta keep counting the blessings and if there aren't enough ... make em up!

Good job detective stuart!

We lived in Japan for 18 months so I need a police report

The Japanese embassy won't let me request a police report until I have my interview letter in hand

And it takes up to 3 months

We're still working on trying to break them but just in case ....

Anyone else got good things about the USCIS-enforced long engagement?

This may seem a little odd, but every week I try to throw out something I have not touched for two years of more. It could be little or big.

Every time I buy something new for the home now, I buy in terms of "us". In my mind, it is a way of transitioning from the old to the new. I am not in a great rush and it becomes sort of a game of purposeful planning. I also find home life is less cluttered, simple and fun!

Another positive thing is I have a decent work out schedule. This passes time and lessens stress just a little. It has kept me fit and I have lost weight...so when I get married, will I gain weight back and be more happy instead? :)

I have started working out myself. I walk with some of my work friends. We all get to blow off steam from work (we're teachers) and I don't have to complain to my sweetie about every little bad thing that happened during the day, but i still usually end up telling him.

I just moved into our apartment a few months ago. We actually decorated it together. . well, via internet. . . the sad thing is that Keeb's side of the closet is virtually empty. . .
