So my EAD and AOS got touched on a saturday...im guessing this has something to do with me having my biometrics on wednesday but do they really work on them at weekends?

What does a touch really mean?

Touch means that someone handled your applications. Since you had your biometrics on Wednesday it probably means that they added that information to your file. And the fact that it was added on Saturday doesn't mean anything, as far as I know they work on Saturdays as well (Tuesday - Saturday).

Yes, your file does seem to get updated once you have your biometrics taken. Saturday does not mean much by itself.

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

So is it commonplace for your case to be touched soon after biometrics? I had mine taken a week ago and haven't been touched. *sigh* I think I need to stop checking every day. :D

Yes, it is. Mine was touched the day after, and there is a thread on VJ at the moment where several people said that the same thing happened to them.

But on the other hand, no one knows what goes on and what happens exactly when cases are "touched"....so even if your case isn't, I wouldn't worry too much (easier said than done, I know.....I keep checking my online account 5 times a day as well :D )
