That reminds me of a little story...

I was maybe 15 or 16 and I was out at a mall with a friend of my family (he was older than me; probably in his 30s) and somewhere along the way, we passed by an unusual women's shoe store (we were headed towards EB Games). Now I say "unusual" because they offered some high heeled shoes that actually had -- and I kid you not -- up to an eight inch heel.

Well, I'd seen high heel shoes before, obviously. Never ones that high, though. So I said to my friend, "How could a woman wear those? Wouldn't they be awfully uncomfortable to walk in?" He looked at me for a moment and then replied, "Those types of shoes aren't designed for remaining vertical; at least not for long, anyway."

It took me a moment to figure that out, but I did. You have to remember, this was the mid-1990s. Sure, there was cable television, porn, and all sorts of goodies, but it wasn't quite as "in-your-face" as it is today. In addition, the Internet wasn't nearly as widely available as it is now. The ability for younger generations to see all sorts of "perverse" things has grown exponentially with online use.
