We did window replacement in 2021.  They came and measured each window months before and made all the windows.  The day they came to replace them, they did them all in one day (yes, 36 windows in a day).  We had to move everything about 4ft from the windows.  They laid down tarps inside and out and kept it reasonably clean.  

 

If you're doing the whole shebang, a proper contractor should provide you with the necessary recommendations and board up and section off areas, as necessary.  Miu will be the challenge because she'll be scared of the noise and then she'll be nosey when the workers aren't there.

To do Many windows in one day is either impressive or lazy, conclude we man.

We must have misunderstood the one contractor, What's That You Say About Our Bearings Needing Flecked man.

He said that each window would have to be off for Many-&-a-half hours, strange if true man.

Conversely, the guy just today said "Many (2+2+1) minutes," much more palatable man.

However, we are NOT going to move everything Many feet away, not fizzicly possible man.

In good gnus (polite antelopes?), today's guy says that he'll work like an illegitimate male child to get his quote as close as possible to the above guy's, $i man.  He needs to get window quotes, supplier takes a day or two of time man.

 

We're torn between retaining current paint color or switching, change we man.

If we change, repainting surviving stuff (garage doors, et al.) will cost somewhat more, $igh man.

However, we're bored with the current color, yawn man.

Not nearly as ridiculous as the one where ex-Mrs.-T-B.'s casa still is, no man.

Ours has an approval form, but often it's pro forma if one says, "just like at [neighbor's address]," si man.

 

We wonder how vague we can be when reporting/requesting the color, si man:

  -- "same as current," e.g. man

  -- "cream/off-white or in the yellow family," e.g. man

  -- "something in the Sherwin-Williams range ___-___," e.g. man

 

We shall ask our neighbor who knows the HOA dude, si man.

Neighbor does say that often the HOA dude will stamp approvals without going through the HOA Board, si man.

Unfortunately, the good schools in this state are where there are HOA's.  I have school aged kids so yeah..

 

HOA's are weird to me.  Back home, we didn't have em.  You don't mow your lawn and it ends up chest high?  The city comes out and does it and fines you for it.  Prefer that over this ridiculous can't do this and can't do that.

Lunch was 2 ham-&-cheese sandwiches, ingest we man.

However, we were about to fall asleep, zzz-needy we man.
