Can you please look at the expiration date of your Green Card and compare it with your driver's license? You may have a still a picture of it.

They both have an expiration of 2033. My previous one was for 5 years instead of 2, though- so I'm glad I've only had to renew it once. I know that I have to update my status so I can renew online in the future, I'm just being a little lazy right now

Yep, this is different in California.

I renewed my DL as conditional LPR in 2021 and got expiration in 2026. My conditional GC expired in 2022.

I didn't know that! I wish I was in California, though :)

More than likely the month and day are the same also. right?

If you travel frecuently down south, get a passport card, its very convinient to carry and even better get a Global Entry. (I do not if Global Emtry has expedited entry at the border on foot).

Yes, you can use Global Entry to enter the U.S. on foot. At the southern border, they will let you use the SENTRY pedestrian lane. However, they check for the physical Global Entry/Nexus card at the first checkpoint prior to getting to the PoE.

Hi everyone,

Looking for advice or shared experiences related to the Detroit field office.

My dad had his N-400 interview on Monday, July 22, 2025. He disclosed that he owes taxes but provided proof of an IRS payment plan that starts in September. He also submitted all required documentation. At the end of the interview, the officer said she needed to consult with her supervisor, and no decision was made.

Now here’s the strange part — my mom had her interview the very next day, July 23, with the same tax situation and identical documents, plus a medical waiver (Form N-648) — and she was approved immediately. Her oath ceremony is scheduled for August 7.

So despite her case being arguably more complex, it was approved on the spot, while my dad's was not. Has anyone had something similar happen — especially where one spouse is approved and the other is delayed due to “supervisor review”? How long did it take for a decision or oath letter to come through?

Appreciate any insights. Thanks!

Congratulations on the N-648, they can be very though. If both of your parents have the same tax issue or filed jointly, your dad had bad luck with the adjudicator in my opinion. The adjudicator hesitated, was not sure and did not want to carry the burden of responsablity, he/she could called the supervisor right away but it did not happen, who knows why?

Hi all, I have filed my N400 application thru online on towards end of Jan 2025.  It got receipt notice and no new biometric needed within 4 days from NBC.  There is no response or update in my case after that.  Supposedly my local service center is Lawrance, MA, but I never received anything from them. Are there any Jan filers still out here without interview scheduled?

I did a search for you, among Visajourney member WITH TIMELINES, there are 22 January 2025 N-400 applicants waiting for interview.

Having a timeline is recomneded because it helps others.
