From all the posts I've seen online of various locations,  I've never seen a first not being allowed.

O I should have mentioned,  guests had to wait in the waiting room.  I think the court room ones,  outside sit in the back and can observe

Typo outside=guests

How does one know if guests are allowed at an oath ceremony. The letter I received is silent about it.

If it's not specifically precluded, assume that it's permitted.  Consider Babu Frik's cautions about it.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

The social security office was the worst part of the whole experience.

Then they also combined the first and middle name and they told us they'd need the certificate of naturalization in order to fix it,  so we had to go home to get it and come back.

GLORY AND HONOR BE TO GOD.

After exactly three weeks of waiting, my oath ceremony has finally been scheduled.

I just got an email from USCIS for the update.

I logged into myUSCIS account and got the letter in my documents.

I have an international travel scheduled 8 days after the oath ceremony.

How can I get a passport within this short number days.

Inbox me if you have any tips on that.

Thanks 🙏 🙏 🙏

You need to have appointment with passport agency.

https://passportappointment.travel.state.gov/

You will need to bring proof of your urgent trip.

My advice is: if you know your oath date and time, schedule appointment already for the later in the day after your oath or next day after oath.

Good luck!

getting an urgent passport was easy peasy

When you make an appointment they'll ask if you have a trip within 14 days

That's what I wanted to do.

But was afraid of taking the

appointment in advance of the oath day.

Of course, I have the date and my flight ticket 8 days after the oath ceremony.

Do they go to the appointment with the photo?

I may be wrong but I understand the passport office for urgent passport (same-day) do not have the ability to take your photo.

Photo services are only available when submitting at USPS.

@Rhema1 my advice is to take the photo ahead of time. AAA is known to be good for taking quality photos with low rejection rate.

Congratulations on getting oath scheduled!

Sorry for asking.

What is AAA and where to find it?

AAA is American Automobile Association. Many people (maybe most) who own cars in the US have this membership for road side assistance.

They provide free or discounted photo services for members, but regular paid service to others. I don’t think it is expensive either way, $15 I think. And they have a reputation of providing photos that generally don’t get rejected by passport office unlike other places.

Question for @Babu Frik and others who have had oath at USCIS office (not in court). How long is the process?

My oath letter says 10:45 appointment. The latest appointment at the passport office that day is 12:30pm, and I am wondering if I can make it.

My oath letter says 10:45 appointment. The latest appointment at the passport office that day is 12:30pm, and I am wondering if I can make it.

It varies.

You can't really tell in advance what a ceremony is gonna looks like.

Sometimes, 30 min to an hour. Uncertainty in ceremonies are also  factors not to neglect.

It may 10:45 , but start few minutes later.

Also,You will not be relaxed during the ceremony if you have an appointment in lesser than two hours time.

Why not try to book an appointment the next day after the oath ceremony considering the fact that no one can really predict.

Thanks.
