Which local field office is that?

Do you guys know the average in Dallas local office?

NY, don't know about Dallas, I went by timelines I saw on here, facebook, and reddit.

In general immigration things seem to be getting slower because of administration changes as well

USCIS says about 8 months for Dallas.  I think it said 9 months when my wife applied in late 2022.  It actually took only 3 months to get notification of an interview.  Total time (over the holidays) was 5.5 months from application to oath (and that included a combo interview).

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Thanks so much for your response.

I get that we can have everything done quicker than the posted time.

My straightforward case, in Dallas, took 85 days from the day I submitted the application to the day of taking the oath.  But I'm just one data point.

The web site always said around 8 months for Dallas while my case was in progress.

Went for my biometrics today. We could only enter 15 minutes before scheduled appointment time. I waited in my car and then went to stand at the door when I saw other people lining up. Was 3rd or 4th to enter. I watched one person go before me and then I was called. The process would have been a lot quicker if I didn't retake my photo 3 times. I didn't realize this photo was going on my naturalization certificate until the person taking my biometrics told me. I look awful in the photo still but I don't care. The woman stated in my second photo I looked "defeated".

Only saw 3 people working at the location. One checking people in. One person doing the biometrics and another person in a separate room doing something or other. The woman helping me out said they were not fully staffed today because they didn't have many appointments.

The entire process took 15 minutes. I completed the survey after they took my biometrics because I wanted them to know the staff were very friendly and helpful towards me! By the time I left there were approximately 20 people in the office. I am glad I arrived early and entered as soon as I could.

Is there a way to find out here (or elsewhere online) whether my interview location does same day oath ceremonies?

Only from anecdotal evidence based on what you find online. Even then, just because it happened to certain people doesn't mean it happens to everyone at the same field office. I used Google: "N-400 <field office> same-day oath".  If you add "reddit" or "visa journey" or another immigration forum at the end, you can narrow your search even more. You can also ask directly on one of the N-400 facebook groups to see if anyone has in the same field office has a recent experience.

Perfect. Thanks for the tips. I’ll have a dig around.
