Hello,

I am new here. I have filled out N-400 today, and received biometrics re-use document. Wondering how long does it take to get an interview. Out of ATL.

Also, is it normal that I was not asked to upload my Tax Returns? I thought it was mandatory...

Tax return transcripts can upload in Additional Evidence section of N-400.

I did that. Now I'm a citizen.

If you don't upload, you may be asked for them at interview.

Uploading them streamlines the case in my opinion.

Aren't tax returns only needed if you're applying on 3-year basis or if you owe taxes?

1) Tax return trascripts prove good moral character and support answer "No" to question "Since you became a lawful permanent resident, have you called yourself a "nonresident alien" on a Federal, state, or local tax return or decided not to file a tax return because you considered yourself to be a nonresident? "

2) They also confirm continuous residence

It takes less than 5 minutes to download them for free from IRS website and upload with form. It's a low effort and there is no harm in providing them.

On VJ I read from people applying under 5 year rule being asked for transcripts at the interview.

It's just one way to take reasons away that would cause USCIS slow down processing, request evidence or put applicant in uncomfortable position at the interview.

I tend to agree.

Just uploaded our corrected deed with my LPR wife's full legal name (along with the original one with her partial name appended in the same PDF). For those of you who haven't followed my threads, the context is when we closed on our house almost 3 years ago, we only put down part of her name instead of the full name. I didn't think anything of it at the time (I know I know, we were caught up in the excitement) but when we were redoing our wills, I got worried about it being a problem so we got a lawyer to get us a corrected deed with her full name. So I uploaded both for max transparency

Noticed that our estimated ETA is 3 months. 3 days ago it was 5 months haha

I was asked this during my in-person interview.  To be honest, I didn't really know what these technical terms mean, so I asked the interviewer for clarifications.  Now that I understand the meaning of 'nonresident alien', I don't understand why anyone will say they're a 'nonresident alien' if they have a GC...

To evade paying certain taxes.

For example, E-2 visa holders don't have to pay some taxes LPRs and citizens pay.

Non-resident aliens typically don't pay FICA. They also don't pay tax on foreign investments and any foreign income.

So people may pretend on IRS paperwork they're nonresident aliens.

Hello Everyone,

ok. So I have received Interview notice this morning. Filed on 6/4/2025, Interview is scheduled for 7/26/2025. This is pretty quick. Out of ATL.

That is fast! We applied a few weeks before you did. Already went to the biometrics appointment, and hoping to hear back soon.
