Hi everyone!

My husband and I are gathering everything we need to submit his I-751 application this summer. We currently live in an apartment and we will probably not be living here for the next 4 years as we want to buy a house.  Obviously, processing times are horrible right now, so we want to get a PO Box for our mailing address for all his communications moving forward to ensure there aren't any issues (so many horror stories online of cards getting lost)

I can't find a straight answer on many topics here. Can you use a PO Box for the mailing address for the i-751 application? Do we also update his AR-11 with the mailing address and just repeat the physical address in the "previous physical address" and "new physical address" sections?

Thank you for any guidance and help!

Yes.  You can use a PO Box for the mailing address.  Yes, use the AR-11 to update either or both addresses.  The petitioner must also update addresses by use of the I-865...which must be mailed.

I need to update my address again?  We already have our current address updated via i-865 and the AR-11.

I would simply change my husband's (CR) mailing address in the AR-11 and on the application. I am not moving, my physical address is the same as him in the app and i-865 and AR-11, so there is no need for me to update the i-865, nor would I be receiving mail as I am the USC.

I have to update the PO Box address for myself as well?

The petitioner (US citizen) must use the I-865 to update physical or mailing address.  There is a spot for new physical address and new mailing address on the I-865.

"The purpose of Form I-865, Sponsor’s Notice of Change of Address, is to report a sponsor’s new address. If you, as a sponsor, change your address, you must submit a completed and signed Form I-865 to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)."

It's the law.  They want to know how to contact sponsors if needed.

I am just worried they are going to think I haven't updated my address or something weird because I would be sending it again.  Has there been issues with this? I updated my address right after we moved.  Should I send a copy of the original i-865 with the new i-865?

For that, you should have received confirmation proving you changed address.

You cannot justify not updating address because you think they'd think something.

I'm confused.  If you change either physical or mailing address, I would send a new I-865.  Good luck.

the notice got lost in the mail so I had to call them and get them to email me the receipt number that they received the i-865. It was a mess.

Alright I will update the i-865 as well once I purchase the PO Box.
