I had my interview today and see an update on USCIS portal (oath ceremony notice was mailed).

Does anyone know in how many days approximately will (i) I see the notice on the USCIS portal, and (2) I receive the notification in the mail?

Give a day or two for notice to show online. Give 1-4 weeks for physical letter to arrive.

My wife just had her interview scheduled for October 17th. Portland, OR field office. 5 year rule. Just updating for anyone still waiting for interview. It felt like a very long wait but relieved it has finally come. It has been hard to watch so many applicants who filed much later already naturalized but at the same time extremely happy for them and their speedy process

You don’t. Your attorney will ask you to sign g-28 so they can represent you at the interview. Good luck

I spoke to a local attorney sometime ago and they said they will ask me to sign the G-28 and upload it to the portal. I am worried that uploading anything new to the portal so close to my interview date will trigger USCIS to reschedule my interview and it is not something I'd like.

@ebhopeful, I am seconding @OldUser.

Uploading the document to the online portal won’t delay anything. In fact Attorney Jim Hacking recommends uploading any additional evidence to the online portal 10 days before the interview.

In addition to uploading to the portal, the original document should be brought to the interview, incase the officer wants it.

Thanks for the info, I am from same area, wondering did your wife submit at 5 full year or she used some 90 days benefit?

I am still waiting, 5 years, submit as single, used 90 days ahead when submit, not sure if that will delay the time, but I start to feel the wait is so long and have no idea how far ahead

She applied a few months after she had passed the 5 year mark

Anything under 12 months is fast in USCIS world.

It's only been 5 months since you filed. Maybe you have somewhat elevated expectations?

Oath ceremony completed. Scheduled for 12, but really only starts at 1, so make sure your relatives don't mind waiting without you or going to the cafeteria in the meantime. About 100 people from 45 countries. One person had been waiting 36 years for the day. Ceremony was just 8 minutes end to end, had to go to a separate area to take photos.

Overall from filing online to doing the oath was about 115 days. Went smoothly with no RFEs or anything. Did General option (5 years as an LPR) instead of based on marriage, as the latter requires more paperwork (tax returns and such), so I highly recommend the general option if available. On the morning of the ceremony the estimator online still said 2 months lol.

Next up is a passport (can be as low as one day or as long as 6 weeks, depending on how it is applied for), and updating Nexus (Global Entry + Canada) physically at a Nexus office once the passport is in hand, but that should be fine.

Passport was applied for the next day at the post office under routine processing and received 20 days later. Passport card received separately a few days prior. Supporting document (Naturalization Certificate) received one day after theseparately passport in a foldable envelope. Maybe post a note asking the post office to leave all large envelopes outside. I just stuck the certificate in its envelope under a stack of heavy books and it unfurled properly. Went to the Nexus office and gave my new passport and they updated their info and told me to request a new card online, which came in a week. All in all everything went simple and straightforward.

Glad everything went smoothly for you, and thanks for the update. It is useful for us future citizens. I didn't know you had to send the original naturalization certificate. That's unnerving.
