ideally before your biometrics appointment notice

it should have shown up not long after your NOA1

you can request a new one here

Either I didn't get it or I accidentally threw it away since I can't find it.

For the link, it says this

Their number starts with MSC

the NOA1 from your I-485 or your I-765 should start with IOE

**your biometrics appointment notice also has those receipt numbers on it

I don't see a documents section

Log in on a computer. Scroll down to the I-485 section. You should see tabs for "Case Status", "myProgress", "Case History", and "Documnents". Click on Documents. Look for one titled "Interview Scheduled.pdf" or something similar. It may not be there yet, but this is where it will show up.

Sorry, just catching up. Yes, create your USCIS account @PokuPoku and things will be much clearer than they were with the K-1 stage!

nope, starts with MSC. I googled it and IOE stands for Online Filing System (e-filing). We filed by paper. Could we have filed online? I didn't see anything about that.

USCIS scans all paper I-485s into the electronic system, assigning them an IOE

you could not have filed it online.

you might just need to use the ask Emma thing to talk to someone if your I-485 genuinely has a different receipt number that doesnt start with IOE

ok after some googling, according to various places MSC means it's being processed by the NBC

so you probably won't get an online account number, and will have to rely on paper notification and using USCIS case status checker https://egov.uscis.gov/

😔

Well, green card application status has been "Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview" since May 28th. Employment authorization status has been "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken" since May 21st. Was hoping I could find more info somewhere. Thought we'd get something in the mail by now.

You will not get anything in the mail because of the status "Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview". This just means you have been placed in queue with your local field office to be interviewed but it has not been scheduled yet. When that status changes to "We Have Scheduled You for an Interview", that's when you should be on the lookout for an interview notice in the mail. It seems like only folks with MSC receipts get this "Ready to Be Scheduled" status.

I had my AOS interview yesterday. We got there about 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment time and went in 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment time so I could check in and go through security and sit in the waiting area until our number was called out by the ISO interviewing us. When our number was called out we then followed the ISO to one of the interview rooms.

The interview was about 10-15 minutes and the ISO was polite and friendly. They took my photo and my fingerprints and then asked us some relationship questions (some of them listed below) and then some Yes/No questions.

How did you meet?

When did you first meet in person?

When did you move here?

When did you get married?

At the end she informally said I would be approved and gave me a piece of paper that said my case was in review but she said they give that to everyone as I believe the cases have to be approved and signed off by a supervisor. Then she said any changes to the case would show about 24 hours after it gets approved.

This morning I got the notification on my USCIS online account confirming that the case was approved! :) So happy! I hope that everyone receives positive news soon regarding their cases soon!

I also received the approval notification exactly 1 year after I joined VJ as well!
