No questions asked. Both of us went through the foreign nationals line for passport control together. When they saw beneficiary's packet, the CBP officer told petitioner to sit in a waiting area while she went with the agent. There were a few people ahead of her, but no questions were asked. The only thing that happened in secondary today was a passport stamp. |

We had our AOS interview at 7am at the Dallas Field Office. It was a rainy morning and we arrived at around 6:25am. The office opened at 7am, and there was no line yet when we arrived. The rain stopped and people began lining up outside the building around 6:30. Doors opened at 6:45 and the security screening was pretty quick and simple. Remove belt, metal, watch, passport and wallet, etc. Standard metal detector stuff. We left our phones in our cars, though this was not required.
We checked in, then waited for over an hour as we watched others come and go. Every case is different, so we stayed patient. Around 8:10, she called our name and we went back to the office and gave her some additional documents from what had been submitted (lease and lease renewal, new photos since our wedding, electricity bill, bank statements.)
Questions:
(TO BOTH) How did you meet? - Dating app ("Which one?")
(TO ME) Have you been to her home country? - No
"Okay, I'll just ask a few questions and we should be out of here in about 10 minutes if that's okay with you"
She then asked the basic disqualifier questions from Part 9 of the I-485 (e.g., have you plotted to overthrow the US government, engaged in drug/human trafficking, etc.).
That was pretty much it. No sketching our our home or "which side of the bed do you sleep on" type questions that TikTok videos make it seem like are all they care about. Just a nice conversation. She asked if we have any questions and I asked her what we could expect next, and she said everything looks good so she'll review it again and if it works out, we can expect a green card within the next few weeks. The interview took roughly 15 minutes and we were on our way home by 8:45.
Received text messages from USCIS at 10:30am the next day letting us know they had taken action on the case. Checked the website: GREEN CARD APPROVED!!! |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
