They can find tons of excuses. The only option that works a lot more reliably is suing, but it's too early.

Each case is unique. The timelines vary. I hope you get good new soon!

Technically, you can sue USCIS for decision on day 121 after interview.

I hope it will not come to that.

My attorney said she received a response that the supervisor will be back on July 1st. We'll see.

So today I got a bit curious and decided to check the API status for my case. Here’s what came up:

  • "Interview scheduled"

  • "milestone": 49

  • "milestone_days_remaining": 21

  • "ordered_display_text"

Has anyone else seen something similar? How long after this status did you actually get your letter or notification? Just trying to get a sense of the timeline from here.

Appreciate any insight.

NB, I filed under 5 year rule, my GC anniversary is 06/29 I read somewhere in this forum that most interviews are usually set after your anniversary, anyway, to all those who have interviews in the coming days and weeks wishing you all the best and good luck.

A copy of the schedule letter should appear on your "My USCIS" tab before you get the hard copy.  I would expect it to be there quickly.

That's the NEXT step. It doesn't mean your interview HAS been scheduled, it means it HASN'T been scheduled yet.

@Magi Stark is correct.

A case with a scheduled interview looks like this:

"data": {
    "display_text": "Case decision",        (THIS IS THE NEXT STEP)
    "milestone": 72,
    "milestone_days_remaining": 59,
    "ordered_display_text": [
      "Attend biometrics appointment (if necessary)",
      "Interview scheduled",
      "Case decision",
      "Attend oath ceremony (if approved)"
    ],
    "overall": 72,
    "overall_days_remaining": 59,
    "start_date": "2025-06-09",
    "time_until_case_decision": "2 Months",
    "time_until_next_milestone": "2 Months",
    "outside_normal_processing_time": false,
    "gpt_call_failed": false

There was an update in the JSON text as follows. Curious about the updatedAt line. 06/16 is the 5 yr anniversary of my GC (I had applied exactly 90 days early). Is this the date they took action (transferred to FO hopefully) just so happened to coincide with the 5 yr anniversary or do they update everyone's application on the anniversary day?

Venting here - I've checked API periodically and my case hasn't been touched for almost 3 months. It says "updated at 4/2", I filed on 3/26/25.

It is within a normal processing time frame for sure, but waiting is hard!!! A little update here and there makes me feel at ease, knowing my case is making a little bit of progress. ☹️
