I just noticed there's something printed/stamped at the bottom of everything.. I think I'll play it safe and just reprint EVERYTHING. Except my marriage license because it's certified and it would be a waste of 10 dollars...

Yeah that's from their scanning all the stuff in. Might be a good idea to get everything fresh and when you send the package back in, put that neon colored paper on top so they'll know this is a resubmission and that will explain the printing on the bottom of your marriage certificate.

We resubmitted all the old evidence - we only swapped out some of my paystubs and added some additional marriage evidence. The only fresh sheets were the applications.

I believe the scanning on the bottom is explained by the neon paper.

we had to resubmit the original evidence because they sent back his medical (unsealed) and we had also submitted a certified marriage certificate.

We also resubmitted all of the stuff from the first rejection, other than the forms, was accepted so far

That neon paper is definitely to show whoever adjudicates it next that it has been scanned before

We didn't think it was worth the extra cost.

If there's worry of needing to go back due to family getting really sick, then yea maybe

Otherwise I don't think so

Yeah we looked at a lot of timeline info and decided that it wasn't worth the money either. Especially since a lot of people were getting the green card approval before the I-131 was approved.

Agreed.. When I first filed I didn't realise the difference was this big  tbh. Quick question, is my current immigration status still k1 visa holder?

If you're still within the 90 days, yes. If not then you are "K-1 Entrant - Adjustment Applicant"

Im still thinking how odd to just have the k1 visa valid for a brief time. It could have been wonderful for it to be valid for 2 years but the marriage period still be within 3 months so we can still be paperwise legal while waiting for our paperworks. Just feels funny, scary or confusing that most of us now just floaters, no status 😂 in our adjustment periods.

And glad to see progress from others, be it RFE or returned papers, atleast we have movements and hope this time.. crossing our fingers be PERFECT! Lets get this residency together!

Looking to get an opinion, do you guys think it's worth it to file I-131? It's saying an estimate of 21,5 months on the USCIS processing time website, and nobody else filed it either hahaha.

One caveat, I-131 form includes all sort of cases and doesn't differentiate timeline for various documents:

- Advance parole

- Re-entry permit

- Refugee travel document

- TPS travel document

So the timeline is aggregated for all sort of cases.

If you want to have insurance policy, apply for I-131. You may never get it or need it, but if your close ones get sick back home, you won't be able to leave without advance parole, without abandoning your AOS and getting a entry ban.

In my case (pre-Covid), AP took 5.5 months, I-485 took 8.5 months, but I never used AP. In fact, it was a combo EAD / AP card and I used EAD only.
