I petionned for my father visa. On the day of the interview he was asked to provide some documents but while his case was under administrative process my father said that he no longer wishes to immigrate and wants to withdraw his application. The embassy asked me to withdraw the application with a notorized letter which they received and sent an email stating acknowledgment on 05/2024. I though that file was now closed so he asked for a tourist visa to come visit and he was issued a blue slip and a denial stating that withdrawal not complete under their system. Does anyone know how long it takes for an application to be completed revoked from uscis and if they will m ow notify me ?

What was the reason he was placed under AP for the immigrant visa?   This sounds like there’s more to it than the application not being revoked.

He needed to change his passport and provide a new one that is the only reason it was placed under administrative processing. He wasn't very eager to immigrate here anyways as he is already in his seventies so he asked to just withdraw the application and he will go as a tourist when needed. There is no other reason than that

I petition for my parents immigrant visa. They both had their interview in January 2024 and some documents were missing for both. My mother provided the documents so she was able to get her visa while my father changed his mind while it was under administrative processing and decided not to immigrate. So we sent a notorized withdrawal letter. The embassy acknowledged receipt and send now they will return it to uscis. This was in 05/2024. Is there a notification once the application is officially revoked. Should I have a sent a message directly to uscis? What is the timeline for them to complete the process ?

Why does it matter? If he's not coming and you notified embassy there's nothing to do.

I understand that you are confused, but you followed the right protocol to withdraw the visa. Once they get that withdrawal request, there is nothing more to do. You can't undo it either. Plus because your Father was placed in AP they probably need to reach out to another department. That can take time.
