Spousal visa - DNA testing?

Asking on behalf of my brother.

My brother is a Canadian citizen, being sponsored by his US citizen wife. They have 2 kids together. She previously sponsored his ex husband.

My sister in law said USCIS told them they need to have DNA testing done for the 2 kids to prove the relationship to my brother (their father). This made no sense to me and I'm not sure why they would need this. Both kids were born in the US and he is on the birth certificate as their father.

Is there any way in which USCIS would request this information?

USCIS told them: who/how exactly?  The call centre agent? They got a letter?

DNA testing if asked is usually at the consulate level. Has she even filed a petition for him?

Is he in the US or in Canada?

She could be reading misinformation thinking it is standard when it is not.

From what she told me, USCIS sent her a letter but I haven't personally seen the letter to confirm that.

I'm honestly not sure if she filed the petition yet or not. He's currently in the US.

When you have the exact wording and status of any petition filed, please post that, with enough context for us to understand.  Do you mean she previously sponsored HER ex husband?  What's the timing associated with the two filings?

If she is truly suspected of misstating who the father of her children is, that's a major issue.  One I've never seen here in 19 years.

You don't have enough info for anyone to meaningfully answer this.

I suggest the person in question comes and asks her own questions.
