Hello everyone,

I hope you’re doing well. I am filing my I-360 (VAWA) on my own, without an attorney, and I would really appreciate guidance from anyone familiar with this process.

I have a few questions:

  1. Safe mailing address (Part 1):
I am planning to rent a USPS mailbox and use that address as my safe mailing address.Does USCIS accept a USPS mailbox address as a safe address for a VAWA self-petition?
  2. Mailing address vs. physical address (Part 3):
I will be moving out of my current residence within the next six months. Can I use the same USPS mailbox address again as my mailing address in Part 3 of the form? Or does USCIS require a physical residential address specifically in this section?
  3. Employment Authorization (Part 10, Question 12):
This question asks whether I am requesting an Employment Authorization Document. If I plan to apply for EAD later under the C09 category together with my I-485, should I mark “Yes” or “No” here?

Thank you so much for your time and help. I truly appreciate any insight you can share.

Yes USCIS accept the USPS mailbox however you still need to put your physical address where you reside. Answer to you third question is you can put YES so when your VAWA approves they will send you C31 EAD meantime you can send C09.

Thank you so much for your response.

My problem is no where in the from asks for physical address. I can see it is only mailing address they want.
where is the area I should put my physical address in the form. I have attached the form here.

Thank you so much for your response.

I have filed i-130 years ago and in that form it asks first about PHYSICAL ADDRESS and then they ask about the mailing address.

I thought mailing address in i-360 form can be a PO box in both sections as it did not mention it as physical address.

Thank you for clarifying this.

so I will put my PO box address in safe address section and my physical address in mailing address section.

Yes some forms do ask for both physical and mailing address for instance form i-131 and some others.
