What do you mean couldn't? Of course he could

I answered All his questions correctly.

So, he could not have enough ground for sending me to the second inspection.

It's was just a 12 days spending in Europe.

People get sent to secondary all the time, even when answering all questions. I may be wrong though.

But it's very rare for green Card holders.

Reason why we were all astonished at the level they were systematically sending Green card holder for second inspection.

Looks like a crackdown on people using green cards as visitors visas and not residing in the US.

Thank you so much, fam! I have been getting so anxious because of all this that it has impacted my sleep and work performance. My work keeps me busy and I’m glad for it otherwise I’d go crazy. I’m a March-2022 filer, did everything on my own (without an attorney) and haven’t received an RFE yet. I do have a 5 year combo card. I’m expecting a response soon as the trend shows they’re working on Jan-Mar 2022 right now. I hope I get approved without an RFE by the grace of God. I will let you know as soon as I hear something.

I am May 2022 filler and same as you- did everything on my own, got EAD combo cards first for 2 years, then last year renewed for 5 years. Getting Prima Facia letters every 6 months. Same as you- never received any RFEs. I just cant wait for all this waiting time to be over and get hopefully an Approval. Keep me posted on your progress because we are very very close with filing time!!!

Yeah 👍 👍

That's what I see.

It really seems like a crack down on green Card holders.

Are we not in the country of the FREE again?

There's laws around residency that are being enforced. Free doesn't mean free to not follow rules.

I guess LPRs are incentivized to become citizens now

Since I have been a member here on Visa Journey, I have seen a surprising number of Green Card holders who remain outside the US for longer than a year. CBP has a duty to vet anyone attempting to enter the US.

Yeah we All know the laws around residency.

Stay abroad less or more than 180 days. 1 years+....

The way their doing these days is like green Card holders are no more FREE.

They are making them to feel like they are being targeted.

That's what we Saw and witnessed this past week at the airport while returning to the USA.

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

Why does the radio stop to tell you they play nonstop music?

Easter Egg hunts:  Proof your kid can find things if he wants to.

Is there ever a day when mattresses are NOT on sale?

You don't realize how many people you don't like until you have to name a baby.

75% of arguments start because someone hasn't eaten yet.

If you sneeze and fart at the same time, your body takes a screenshot.

I'm at the point in my life where running errands counts as going out.

The refrigerator is the perfect example of "what matters is on the inside."

Why is there a setting on every toaster to completely burn the bread?

Denial, anger, bargaining, acceptance -- the 4 stages of waking up.

When you're tired at night, everything's funny.  When you're tired in the morning, nothing's funny.

** Googles number I didn't recognize calling me instead of answering. **

What part of "I don't wanna spend any more money" don't I understand?

I'm having a lousy day.  Please send cute pics of your credit card.

I learn from the mistakes of people who took my advice.

Drunk is when you feel sophisticated but can't pronounce it.

I have a "dry-clean only" shirt that's about to learn some harsh truths about living with me.

I am the friend you have to explain to your other friends before they meet me.

And that's a wrap on another day where I acted like I knew what I was doing.

Hi all,

I had my VAWA petition approved about three years ago on the grounds of bigamy. I’m now approaching the point where I can apply for U.S. citizenship. However, I have not yet formally divorced from the previous marriage. At the time, my attorney advised that since my spouse failed to disclose her prior existing marriage, our marriage was never legally valid to begin with.

That said, I would like to proceed with obtaining a formal divorce and would appreciate any recommendations for a good attorney who can assist with this process.

@Sandra G. – I’d also appreciate your insight on whether this unresolved marital status could present any issues during the naturalization process. I have no criminal record or removal orders.

Thank you all in advance for your guidance and support.

Wednesday!  Time for our Semiofficial Semiweekly VAWA-Thread Joke:

===========================================
OLD AGE

Don't worry about avoiding temptation.  As you grow older, it will avoid you.

At my age, I have realized that going braless pulls the wrinkles out of my face.

A man has reached old age when he is cautioned to slow down by his physician instead of by the police.

We're all mature until someone pulls out bubble wrap.

Old age is having a choice of two temptations and choosing the one that will get you home earlier.

I woke up.  I lifted my arms, I moved my knees, I turned my neck.  Everything made the same noise:  Crack!  I came to a conclusion:  I'm not old; I'm crispy!

If you were unaware of your spouse’s bigamy, it does not impact your eligibility for U.S. citizenship under VAWA.
