The ceac website asks for photo uploading. Are they wanting the actual passport photo they will be using or can this be changed later?

Do I need translations from Spanish to english for the police cert and birth cert?

THanks everyone:)

AN actual passport photo LIKE they will use.  Yes, you'll bring more to the interview and medical exam later.

@pushbrk I asked in the forum and can't find an answer online. There is a hiccup getting her police certificate, we will be able to get it but in the interest of trying to move this forward, can we use the "not available" option to submit the docs to nvc for review and just bring the police cert to the interview?

Thanks Pushbrk

You won't be documentarily qualified until you submit all the required docs. You'll still need to take the original cert to the interview though.

Is it ill advised to submit everything else and wait for the request for the pc?

What's the "hiccup" and why?

The only way to get your police certificate is online. In order to do that, you enter your birth certificate id and one of your parents names. The system is telling her there is an error and it can’t be processed. However she tried with her brothers bc id and it works fine. She thinks that when she registered our marriage - they cancelled the wrong id number. It will eventually be fixed but it’s Mexico so …

Unfortunate.  It won't hurt to try to get NVC to DQ you without the certificate, but I wouldn't count on success.

The "not available" is normally reserved for police reports/documents which cannot be obtained in any manner by non-citizens or people outside that particular country.  You can try to get NVC to DQ your case, but they might just show the letter rejected or missing until you submit the police report.

OK I have submitted everything for DQ, so we’ll see if I was missing or have corrections needed for anything else as well. Thank you everyone
