My Fiancée is convinced that she must be interviewed in both the US embassy and the Philippines embassy for her K1 visa.
I know she is required to attend the CFO class at the Philippines embassy and acquire the passport stamp, but does she have to go through an interview there similar to the one conducted at the US embassy?
She is convinced that she does. She said she, "has done her research and saw it on TikTok." 😆

She will do the interview for the K1, and further down the line you might have to interview together for the adjustment of status process (which needs to get filed/started after you got married). Some of those have been waived though, so she might get her greencard without having the adjustment of status interview.

I don’t know the specifics about her country, but somebody might have more intel on that.

She will be interviewed by the US Embassy in the Philippines, assuming she currently resides in the Philippines.  I think you will be hard-pressed to find a Philippine Embassy within the Philippines, since there are none, so whatever TikTok said isn't even possible, or was misunderstood.

Also, CFO is not conducted by the embassy.  It is a class required by the Philippine government for Filipinos that will exit the country.  The passport stamp is also old news.  Now they issue a digital certificate.  The CFO interview can be similar to the embassy interview.  Take the same documents to CFO that she took to the interview.

Thank you for this explanation. It helps me to understand what she is talking about.
Yes, she resides in the Philippines.
She must be referring to the CFO.  I was under the impression that the CFO was simply a presentation/class that she had to take. I was unaware that they also interviewed her as part of the CFO process!

Based upon advanced TikTok experience🤣, if she is not talking about CFO then she ''might' be concerned about the potential of a possible secondary interview by Philippine exit immigration at the airport(???)  These sometimes do happen.  It is typically not a problem for K1 or immigrant visa holders but is not unheard of.  Secondary interviews by Philippine exit immigration get a lot of attention on social media and cause a lot of stress and worry because for young women traveling alone internationally for the first time as a tourist they can be quite invasive, intimidating and there is a not insignificant possibility they might not be allowed to leave the country by Philippine immigration if such an interview didn't go well.  All of which is not usually a problem for a K1 or immigrant visa holder.  It is unlikely to happen at all and and even if it does she just needs to play along and everything will be fine.  It's not something she needs to worry about.

No, she is talking about the CFO, (based on her advanced TikTok research.) 🤣 🤣 🤣
I was unaware that she would be interviewed again as part of the CFO process.  I am happy to discover there is a CFO center in Cebu as that will be closer than a return to Manila when the time comes.
Yes, I have been contemplating taking her on a vacation to Thailand or somewhere similar so that she can obtain that first stamp in her passport. I have heard that it can be very difficult with immigration and there is a chance for her to be "off-loaded."

Technically it is not an interview.  It is intended to be an educational class to prepare them for the new country they are going to.  There is a group session first, where general information is given.  After that, they receive one on one "counseling" for their particular situation.  CFO has calmed down quite a bit recently.  Lately it is being run as intended, just providing information, instead of trying to be a secondary interview.  CFO does have authority to delay or even deny her departure, so don't take it lightly.  Be as prepared for CFO as for the embassy interview.  Delays would be for lack of required documents.  Denials would be for something serious, like suspicion of sex-trafficking.  One question they seem to enjoy asking is "What is your fiancé's mother's maiden name?"  So be sure to tell her that.  As long as she knows your name, address, state, and marriage/criminal history (if any), she will be fine.

Once she has her visa it shouldn't be any problem.  But if you decide to take her on vacation to Thailand while you are waiting it's best if you travel with her rather than trying to meet her there.  Get to the airport early and plan on a secondary interview but if they are accompanied by foreign bf or fiance they would generally pass a secondary interview.  They might make YOU sign some very strangely worded affidavit promising to bring her back. 🤣

Again, thank you for the excellent info. She is already asking me for documents for the CFO "interview" so at least her TikTok research has her on her game, and to her credit, I've learned something from it.
We have just recently filed for the K1 visa, so plenty of time . . . unfortunately.  We have already met in person twice, and the third time is coming up in 2 months.
The whole process seems kind of silly when literally thousands of people just walk across the border and are allowed to stay. 😠

The CFO and exit interview part of the “process” have nothing to do with US immigration.

First thing that you need to tell her is to stop going to TikTok and FB Groups for advice. One Embassy interview and she may be confusing the CFO as a second interview. The CFO is something every Filipino must go through to exit the Philippines with immigration intent.

Another thing that you need to understand is that Filipinos love to worry. If they have nothing to worry about they will go seek out something to worry about.

"First thing that you need to tell her is to stop going to TikTok and FB Groups for advice."   I could tell her that, but that isn't going to stop her.  Besides, that's just a sure way to start a fight.  🤣
Yes, she is assuming that she will be interviewed again as part of the CFO.

Be aware that there are much more extensive lists of required documents frequently mentioned in TikTok, than the much shorter list of actual requirements.

Thanks for the reminder. I learned that lesson by researching how to put together the I-129f packet. There is this belief out there that you must "over-deliver" instead of just preparing what is necessary.
