Could really use some advice (Merged threads)

I’m sorry if I’m just being stupid but I am just so confused and stressed out by this process and the lack of communication from NVC and could use some guidance from people who have been through this.

We have finally received our NVC case number for our fiancé visa however that is all we have and do not have an ID invoice number or whatever it is called. NVC said our case is being sent to the embassy (UK). This has been a whole thing on its own because when I try to log in to ceac or the case tracker app apparently the case number is invalid and I’ve emailed NVC and they said it’s not their problem (so much fun 🥰)

Do I need to just wait to hear from the embassy now before I do anything? Google is saying it could take 8 weeks and the idea of having to wait 8 more weeks, after having to wait 4 just to have to contact NVC myself, just makes me want to cry.

Since I have a case number can I just do my DS160, book my medical, and my interview? Or is this just another waiting game

Thank you for any advice and guidance because I am driving myself up the wall

There is no invoice number for a K-1 case.  Are you trying to log in CEAC for immigrant cases or non-immigrant cases?

NVC have said they have sent my petition for my fiancé visa to the US embassy in London and to wait to hear from them. However, I’m seeing online that I have to book my own appointments and that the London embassy won’t contact me?

my question is now that I have my case number do I just fill out my ds160 and then book my medical and interview or do I have to wait to be contacted by the embassy first and then do those things? I don’t want to sit here waiting and doing nothing if I don’t have to

You do not need to make an account or log into CEAC and hence no need for an invoice number. All NVC does is just hold your petition and send it to the consulate. Just input your number here under Immigrant visa if you want to see the status: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?TSPD_101_R0=0883343043ab2000cd703c85f00ba4e76c956f6775cbcceefe4d172359dd568d16e42717775bbb3208dc6bad3014300059a8ee058c037cb901109944fa5d2ff457e61f8cb69c44551e54db106368689800b4bc845a609c92063e0340ddd95986

Also, according to the UK portal here on VJ, K1s schedule their own appointment without waiting for the consulate: https://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=United Kingdom&cty=London
