The University of Georgia Police Department arrested 26-year-old Jose Antonio Ibarra in connection to the death of 22-year-old Laken Riley.

Police announced that Ibarra is not a U.S. citizen and was not a student at UGA nor did he know Riley personally. According to multiple DHS sources, he is here illegally from Venezuela. Sources confirm he crossed in September of 2022 into El Paso, Texas, and was released due to lack of detention space.

“He saw an individual and bad things happened,” University of Georgia Police Chief Jeff Clark said at a news conference Friday.

Ibarra is expected to be charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping, hindering a 911 call and concealing the death of another.

Investigators are currently searching Ibarra’s apartment. According to police, he does not have an extensive criminal history in regard to violence, and evidence suggests the killing was a solo act.

Riley’s body was found Thursday on the UGA campus after she went for a jog, according to investigators. Her cause of death was reported to be blunt force trauma.

She was a student at UGA until last spring but had transferred to a nursing program at a nearby school, Augusta University. She was a junior and dean’s list student who studied on the school’s Athens campus.

The 22-year-old was reported missing by a friend at 12:07 p.m. Thursday after she didn’t return home from a run. https://www.newsnationnow.com/crime/uga-death-nursing-student/

This individual was also previously arrested in September in NY and released. There are many similarities in this case to the homicide of Rachel Morin in August of last year in Maryland. Some have even pointed out that he looks very similar to a recently released sketch of a suspect in the murder. That suspect in the MD case was traced via DNA to the rape of a minor that took place in California earlier in the year. Police have always stated that they feared would kill again and may be linked to other crimes. I am praying that this may be the suspect and can be brought to justice. For more background on the MD case see here:

The brother of the man charged with murdering a woman on the University of Georgia’s campus was charged Friday night with possessing a fraudulent green card.

He’s currently being held in state custody, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Georgia.

As of Friday night, the initial appearance for 29-year-old Diego Ibarra of Venuezula—the brother of Jose Ibarra, who faces state charges in connection with the death of Laken Rileyhad not been scheduled. If convicted, Ibarra faces a maximum of 10 years in prison.

According to the criminal complaint and sworn affidavit, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) was made aware of Ibarra’s undocumented presence in the United States on Friday. An Athens-Clarke County Police Department officer approached Ibarra because he matched the description of a suspect in the homicide investigation. Ibarra presented the officer with a U.S. permanent resident card (also called a green card) as identification. The card was determined to be fraudulent.

“Ibarra is a citizen of Venezuela and was processed for expedited removal but claimed a credible fear of return to Venezuela,” the release said. “He was consequently released from immigration custody pending adjudication of his claim for asylum on April 30, 2024.”

According to the criminal complaint and sworn affidavit, since entering the country, Ibarra has been arrested three times by Athens law enforcement for charges including driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license and theft by shoplifting. https://www.41nbc.com/brother-uga-campus-murder-suspect-charged-fraudulent-green-card-possession/

Yep, Old Joe did that.  Let's Go Brandon!

Biden’s border crisis claims Laken Riley

What Riley did not know was that on Sept. 8, 2022, her eventual killer, Ibarra, his wife, and his wife’s young child were arrested near El Paso, Texas, for illegally crossing the southern border. Ibarra was not the father of the young child he crossed with. In fact, the only reason Ibarra and his wife got married was to increase the chance they would be released into the United States after they were arrested. Like millions of other immigrants around the world, they knew Biden was more likely to release them into the country if they were arrested as a family.

Ibarra and his wife also knew their final destination before they crossed: the Covenant House in New York City. They were not sent to New York because of some dastardly plan concocted by Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX). They were bound for New York because they knew they would be given shelter there. And they were.

Yes, legal immigration could be reformed in this country, but that is no excuse for Biden throwing the border wide open in January 2021.  And the bait and switch bill presented by the Democrats in the Senate was not comprehensive immigration reform.
