Hello,

I filed form I-129F in January of 2023, but I made a mistake on the form. In section 3, question 4.a I marked it as "no". I do not have any criminal convictions, but I had forgot about a case from 1999. The case was for telephone harassment, and it was dismissed without a trial. In February of 2023 I sent USCIS a letter explaining the error, and the information that should be included for question 4.a and 4.b. I also included a newly signed I-129F that was correctly filled out, a certified case disposition that shows the dismissal, and the case files from the county clerks office. The petition was approved in November of 2023 and in January of 2024 I received an email from VisaIV-AIT@state.gov, and its apparently from the embassy in Taiwan. The email appears to be intended for my fiancé but they sent it to my email instead. The email included a PDF attachment. The PDF contains the approved I-129F and the criminal case files that I mailed to USCIS in February of 2023. The approved I-129F however still showed Part 3 question 4.a marked as "no". Since they included the criminal case files that I mailed to them then is it possible that they also included the amended I-129F and my letter in my visa petition case files? I'm really worried that my fiancé is going to waste her time at her visa interview next month.

I want to give an update for anyone that was following the topic. My fiancés visa was approved. They never asked about my criminal background or mentioned it to her. She was mostly asked to show my financial documents during her interview.

Congratulations. You did a perfect mid course correction by updating at the USCIS stage . As you you experienced, consulate did receive/ review AND notify your fiancé ..on email address on record .
The no questions asked during interview and approval is the result of your excellent work

This is true.  Proactive correction is appreciated and almost always accepted, especially at the consular level.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."
