they can write in their native language, but it should be translated. Does not need to be translated by a professional, but by someone not related to either of you who then writes an affidavit swearing they are fluent in both languages. The letters need the writers' ids as well.

All evidence submitted to the USCIS needs to be in English or accompanied by an English translation.

 

Proof of relationship is not required for petition approval.  Letters are very poor evidence anyway. Concentrate on better evidence.
