I’m U.S citizen filing I-130 for my mom.  We are both here in USA. She illegally entered usa in the year of 2000. I just got an interview letter. They want me to bring proof of citizenship and birth certificate.

In this normal ?

also it doesn’t state in the letter that she has to be at the interview .
she has a spouse who is also us citizen

the Uscis did not say that I130 is approved or not approved, they want to interview me ?
does this happen ?
Please help  I

You received an interview letter personally?  What was the basis for your citizenship?  To my knowledge it is fairly rare for a petitioner to be sent an interview notice alone.

I am going to guess the OP was born in the US.

Not sure what the plan is, get an I 130 approved and then I 601 a?

Yes, I was thinking the same thing, but the BC could be requested to prove family relationship since they are also requesting proof of citizenship.

Have you heard of a petitioner being interviewed alone in reference to an AOS process?

What does it say on the top two lines?  Is it something like "Request for applicant to appear for initial interview" and "Form I-485 Application to register permanent residence or adjust status"?

I had a look at post history just to see if I could get a clue but am even more confused.

I 485 would not be appropriate, but that should have been picked up if one was filed.

I have seen I 130 interviews for Spouses but not children.

Are you asking this on behalf of somebody else? As Boiler said, your post history/timeline is very confusing.

How old are you and how did you get your citizenship?

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

No I’m asking for myself. On my timeline, I have been a citizen for 16 years. In 2020, I petitioned for my husband to come to USA. Now he’s here.
now I’m 2022, I filed for my mom. My mom is already here in USA. She entered illegally. This letter is from her petition

And why doesn't your mom's USC spouse file for her?

OK. I'm still confused, if you can answer the questions asked by others above that will help.
