N-400 September 2023 Filers

The officer made a mistake and denied me. I been in America since I was 9 months old. I went to prison got out went to ICE for a year incarcerated for 3 years total. I won cancellation of removal from judge, the DHS attorney appealed the judges decision I won again in appeals court BIA as well. I got released. 
 

last decision they stated i was incarcerated during my 5 year period they made a mistake and didn’t calculate my time properly nor did they send a RFE or NOID did not follow policy manual.  
 

Been dealing with this for over 25 years
 

so we refilled, n336 do not have time limits. 

with intentions of getting a interview faster vs n336

 

  this is my 3rd time applying N400

dang! quite a story!! didn't you hire a lawyer for filing N400 this time? If not, i would highly suggest to do so. As you stated you have been dealing with this for 25 years, you need to nail it down by getting some good lawyer.

 

I am sorry that you went through all this but, hey you never know this is your time. Keep me posted with your Interview date. I hope you are going to hear something positive.

Yes, I have an amazing Attorney Peter Williamson out of Houston Texas. He got me out of all this. Mines at 16 days. 
 

they are really behind right now normally folks were getting interviews in 2-3 weeks. the reason why a lot of us are waiting we are waiting for background checks to be conducted they are not complete. FBI Name Check.

i just simply dn't get why processing time in days lol. Matter of fact I shared the link here in this post, and that was also from someone in Houston Tx, same story same situation, plus some more people having the processing time in "days" commented on it. I pray that you hear something soon and within 16 days. Mine is on 27 days as i type this.

I had my interview yesterday and wanted to share my experience with you all. 

I made it 20 minutes before the scheduled time on the notice. My interview started 15 minutes late (it was quite busy at the USCIS office yesterday). 

 

The officer escorted me to her office and made me take the oath. After that, she walked me through the process and told me that we will be starting with the civics test, then reading and writing and end with a few questions about my application. 

 

The civics test was simple. Got the first 6 questions correct. The questions were - 

• What does the judicial branch do? 
• Who is the commander-in-chief of the military?
• Name one state that borders Mexico? 
• What movement tried to end racial discrimination?
• Why does the flag have 50 stars?
• Who was the first President?

 

Reading (on the tablet): How many U.S. senators are there? / Writing (on the tablet): There are 100 senators

 

The standard Yes/ No Question, followed by Oath of Allegiance questions. 

 

After that, she made a couple of updates to my application and asked me to review it on the tablet and sign. She asked me if I wanted to change my name on the naturalization certificate (that's when I knew I had passed)  

 

After all that, she congratulated me, told me she had approved my application, and asked me if I was traveling in the coming weeks. I told her about travel during Christmas, and she was very accommodating and said she would make a note and have my oath scheduled in Jan 2024. 

 

Later in the evening, I got the letter and my oath ceremony is scheduled for January 4th! Excited to start 2024 on a happy & positive note!! 

 

Wishing you all the very best, and if there is one suggestion I have for you during the interview - take deep breaths and calm yourself when you are waiting in the waiting area (getting to the office a little early helps). For many of you, this journey might have taken anywhere between 3-20+ years and you will go through a rush of emotions. Just remember that the officers there are there to help you and are just doing their job. Not every officer might come out as friendly (mine, for example, was courteous, professional, and had a straight face for the most part. Don't let that intimidate you).

Was on the phone with a friend of mine when I saw the USCIS app popped up! Get my interview next January!

So happy to get closer to the final step... and also now I am starting to get nervous lol

What app are you using to track your case? I got notice that my interview was schedules but I wasn't able to download the notice in the USCIS website...

you can sign in and add your case to track all updates

or you can also use lawfully

• Sept. 19, 2023 Est. Time disappeared and didn't receive anything in the mail yet.
• Sep. 21, 2023 Biometric reuse letter received and case is being actively reviewed. still, no estimated time since it disappeared on the 19th, and no action notice in the mail yet. 
• Dec. 6, 2023 Interview scheduled for January 2024.
