Sounds ridiculous I know but...30 plus years ago when got married in states to a French citizen that was already living and working legally on a work visa in US, I don't know if we or she filed filed an i130 and/or i485 in order to stay in states. We divorced a few years later after a horrendous car accident that then she wanted to go back to Europe. I do have our divorce decree paper but only that.

So now 30 years later and no paperwork in hand I don't really remember what if anything we / she filed. (She doesn't have anything either or remember form numbers if any were done back then, something must have been filed I guess ? but what I don't know.

So when answering honestly on the current i130 that I will fill in I don't know what to put for  "Have you EVER previously filed a petition for this
beneficiary or any other alien?"
I don't know isn't one of the options lol, just yes or no.

And does that question mean just a previous i130 or means i130 and/or i485 ?

And it asks for a date and result and I wouldn't know those either IF the answer was yes.

Thanks all, can't believe it myself.

It is something you would have needed to do.

""Have you EVER previously filed a petition for this beneficiary or any other alien?"  "

This I-130 question is asking you, the petitioner, if you have filed a previous petition for ANY alien in the past.  Generally, that would have been an I-130 or an I-129F.  Read these questions literally.  YOU cannot file an I-485 for anyone else but yourself.  Thus, an I-485 would not be relevant for this question.

If the alien received a green based on a marriage to the US citizen then an i130 petition and i485 application was filed.

FOIA on her file if you want to be certain.

Thanks, checked their site and says you can get - "Someone else’s immigration records, if you have their written permission" which I don't have.
So if I filed an i130 as petitioner but I am US citizen do you think it falls into the "Your own immigration records"  category and would be on their site?

I'm thinking I don't have any immigration records since I was born in US.   ??

The I-130 is asking what petitions the OP has submitted.

And?  If you carefully read my post I am quite certain i identified the i130 as a PETITION

I was referring to the question the OP asked.    I have added all I can to this discussion, and I do not wish to bicker.  I am bowing out.
