F1 visa

Hi hope everyone is doing well. So I made a post last year worried about me aging out since am 21 years old and our priority date is 14 December 2014 and you guys helped me out but now I have another issue. So me and dad and little sister is under the F1 green card, my dad mom filed for us back in December 2014 and we got our approval letter back in may 2020. The visa bulletin finally moved forward for us too but here's the thing there's a lawyer my aunt hired to help her with the process she had us send up our birth papers and police records last year around October and called to get out person information February or march this year am guessing for the iv application since our iv fees were already paid last year too and when the lawyer called she said to expect a call from the embassy any time soon but we haven't heard anything yet....is there a reason as to why it's taking so long ? I also check a month or 2 ago that our iv application hasn't been filed out as yet...my mom had a fried doing the same thing and he was saying that the lawyer probably mailed all that info to the embassy for them to full and and it's a long process..what do you guys think? Sorry that this is so long and that my English is bad just a bit upset about how long it's taking don't want to age out

No they aren't married and his mom who filed for us is a us citizen

Can you look at your DS-260 online?

 

It's not the embassy who fills out the DS-260, it's YOU!

 

Have you received a welcome letter?

Yes I can access it online and yes we received our welcome letter back in may 2020 and will the lawyer do it ? Because she called to get a lot of information about us and am assuming is to fill out the iv application

I don't really know how to do it and everytime I ask my aunt about it since she's the only one who's helping us she's always busy the last time I spoke with her a couple of weeks ago she told me she's not sure if we have to do it all she knows is that the lawyer asked her to mail her some tax papers or something like that

Your Aunt needs to file the I 864, I guess that is what she means by tax papers, a bit more than that.

 

I assume you realise your Mother is not coming.

Yes I know she's not coming with us to America when I get through I will just file for her or help her get a visa...well if I get through

You can not do anything until you Naturalise, and this a long time away.

This is really odd, if you had your Welcome Letter over 3 years ago why has the DS-260 not been done since then? I'd ask your lawyer exactly what is going on. Have you paid the fees? Uploaded supporting documents? Once you've done those things and the DS-260 then you should be Documentary Qualified fairly quickly and then just in the queue for an interview at the consulate, but it seems like a lot of time has been wasted for no reason.
