For K-1, NVC is a useful as mammary glands on a boar hog.

Since your letter says the case is with the embassy, contact the embassy  10 business days from the date of the letter if you hear no more:

1 week 7.
Case received by Embassy from NVC
Embassy receives package and processes it. They will then prepare a letter to be sent to the foreign fiance(e).

*5-7 business days after the NVC sends the package to the embassy, you can begin contacting the embassy to see if they have received it.”

But I was under the impression that it goes to the NVC first & then they send it over to the consulate.

1. Your approved I-129F has an expiration date. If you are not proactive it will expire and you will get nothing.

2. NVC’s competence and service level has degraded since the pandemic.

3. NVC has meaningful role in K-1. This is yet another reason why K-1 is inferior to IR-1.

You're correct. I dunno what Mike's pt is. I don't think they do welcome letters really anymore. You will need to submit an inquiry to obtain your case number from nvc so you can check status and follow up at embassy. The case number will start with the letters of your embassy.

I'm not fully clear on nvc stage as I'm still noa1 but I'd find your noa2 date group here and discuss there! If you tell me your noa2 i can link you to group if you're unsure where to find

Chances are high your k1 noa2 will expire while at nvc or shortly after, this is normal. Just make sure you keep track as if embassy doesn't hear from you, they may consider it abandoned

Having just gone through this, NVC is S-L-O-W right now.. it was 100 days from NOA2 to NVC case number (several inquiries and a letter to the senator).

Yes, the I-129F will expire 120 days after NOA2, but the embassy has the discretion to extend the date, but they can't until they have the document (CEAC status of at least 'in transit' or 'ready')

Also, using logic with USCIS and NVC about 100+ days to embassy and 120 day expiration does not work.

My recommendation is have the USC monitor the progress, call USCIS to see if you can find out the ship date to NVC (at about NOA2 +80 days) - it may take several calls; then line up your senator if you go over 90 days of no answer from NVC.  This is a HUGE babysitting exercise and literally the most stressful part of this whole process.

Also, depending on your embassy, you can get a lot done during this wait - DS160, MRV, I-134, etc.

I know they are taking forever but I do think it depends on the country. I’ve seen several from Dominican Republic that get it after a month to almost 2 months but no longer than that.

No, all i got is the approval letter from uscis. I just wanted to know if i should be worried that it does not mention the NVC.

If it's your uscis approval letter then you're fine, inquire through nvc inquiry form about case status or wait until you hear from them. It's taking 60-90days for them to receive cases at the moment

This is super helpful, I have read as much as I can but still noa1 and there is a lot of confusing info out there. Thanks
