Hello VJ Family,

Since we have to wait this period out without our better halves, I was wondering if anyone knew what calling card gave the most minutes to Nigerian land lines and Lagos numbers. Right now, I have been using one that gives me about 50 minutes for $2.00.

Please if you have any information, I am willing to try new avenues to bring my monthly calling cost down.

Yes, I do utilize Skype, MSN, and Yahoo. But, I cant possibly sit at the computer all day. My schedule is really tight.

Thanks in advance,

Missy

50 minutes for $2.00 is a good deal! I just had my fiancee get a Nextel so we could have Free Interntation walkie talkie, because she does not have the internet at home and my $250 phone bills the last few months has not been fun. Though with nextel i also get international long distance and that makes the calls $0.09 a minute. So roughly $5 for an hour...

I found out that if you buy local cards they swallow the minutes like there is no tomorrow , did the comparing with international cards wich where the same price but offerd double the minutes as the local card , maybe you get lucky and find a card or , maybe they sell some cheap once on line ? I dont know about shopping on line , its just an idea

I use www.peezy.com. You register your primary phone, load the minutes and call directly. The one draw back is the least amount one can buy is $10. You will get 53 mins to a cell phone with that . U can also print call log showing your number and the number u r calling. My $470 sprint bill wasnt funny anymore besides their international calling is $0.49/min

Try www.raza.com and www.pingo.com they may have some better rates for landline calling. Pingo has a 24 hr validation of your account and if you do it online and it does not take billing info be sure to only submit once. They do have where you can get call history on line. With raza you can send an email requesting the info and they will send it to you.

Where did you get that card from? I am using VIP Communication and CTA Africa. Too expensive. I just call now and say I love you and hang up. :help:

I have a Spring PCS International Calling Card, and the rates are great...usually it costs about 15-25 cents/minute to call a cell phone in Italy (my fiance doesnt have a house phone), but with this card its 4 cents!

I dont know if you can find better rates than the one you've got, but try out Customer Service to find out what they charge for Nigeria

1-800-317-2875

you can recharge the minutes over the phone with a credit card and the connection is pretty flawless...i hunted around for a good while until i found this card, and it works really well

www.startdialing.com The continental card is a little more expensive, but they keep a call log that shows the number called from, the number dialed and the length and cost of the call. Good stuff to have at the interview.

Try www.sonartel.com. They have great rates and their call quality is excellent. They also have some cool promotions such as "low low days" and "midnight madness" where they offer their customers very low rates to some destinations at certain times. On Oct 1, they offered Nigeria cell phones at 10cents per minute. They also recently did UK landlines at 1 cent a minute, and Kenya mobiles at 5 cents a minute.
