Ok people, my wife got the PINK yesterday with the help of my lawyer, Marc Ellis. He took extra steps to fight for our case WITHIN the consulate, without him I don't think my wife could have "the pink" in her hands that fast (or never will have? ) . At first I thought that my case was solid so I didn't think about hiring an attorney, but after reading here for couple of weeks I got nervous because the staffs in HCM consulate DON'T ALWAYS DO THEIR JOB RIGHT according to the posts here. So I decided to look for a lawyer who specializes in K visa in Saigon and I found Marc.

Anyway, my vo will go pick up the visa tomorrow. Should she come to the consulate an hour or 2 earlier than the appointed time?

Thank you for your support VJers,

Thai

P.s If you need a real good lawyer who can fight for YOU with years of experiences in the HCMC please feel free to PM me. I also want to say thank you to CHICAGO Man and MIKE1972 who introduced me to Mr. Ellis.

Great news!!! Congratulations!!!

~~quick question~~

I am now confused (once again)..lol

Your timeline says that you applied for a K-1 visa and were married before your interview. I was under the impression I couldn't do that. Did they say anything to you in the interview about being married?

Thai,

First, whatever happened, it did in your best interest. My congratulation to you and your wife.

Second, I would be very careful discussion what MC did and took the extra-step to help you out. Advise against it! You have mentioned enough of him and if I recall it correctly, he doesn't like it when people post his name around openly on VJ. Word-of-mouth and direct contact seem to be the way MC'd like people to get in touch with him.

Kym,

Note: Thai wrote he did have a "Traditional Wedding Ceremony" which isn't bad or illegal through HCM Consulate. They only have problem with "Legal Marriage" where you actually obtain a marriage license from the local government. That will make you ineligible for K-1 Visa. So he's OK!

Ok...thank you for clearing that for me! I had even been cautioned of that too at one time because we had considered that. But no matter...we are so close now I can taste it!
