Hi Folks...

My fiancé completed her interview a couple of hours ago & was approved. She indicated that her interviewer kept some of our original paperwork which included my divorce decrees, her NBI, birth certificate & CENOMAR. Are they going to be sending those papers back to us? She was told that the VISA would be sent in 1-2 weeks.

Thanks!

Kawika

I think they put those or most of those in the sealed brown packet for her to bring to the US CBP when she reaches POE.

She must not open the sealed brown packet.

She needs to pull her passport with the visa from the plastic wrapper around the sealed brown packet.

Theoretically, the brown packet is forwarded from US CBP to USCIS.

After, I sent all the originals to my Fiancee for her interview, I just contacted all the places of where I had originals from and paid a very small amount and they sent me certified copies that I still have.  Fortunately, I provided copies of all the original documents that they requested and they did keep all the copies but returned the originals.  In the preparation for interview in the Jakarta, Indonesia US Embassy website, clearly states what originals and copies are required to be brought, not sure what Manila does.
