NOA 1: April 1st, 2022

NOA2: May 4th, 2023.

Prepared to open an inquire on June 5th.

As for now, NVC is taking, on average, 70 days to e-mail the case number.

I still have some hope they will go back to 30 days...

NOA 1- 24 Mar 2022

NOA 2- 15 May 2023

Quick question: passport expiring next year.. planning to renew to avoid hassle in doing so in US.. any issues if I were to renew now? Cause the passport number would be a different one to the one on the application if renew now..would it  cause any problems downstream.. might be a silly question but just wanted to be safe than sorry..

Are you talking about US passport? Shouldn't be any issue but, keep in mind waiting time for passport renewal is also around 8-12 weeks now.

Hmm I think @Me&Sa is probably talking about their home country passport to avoid the trouble of having to go to the nearby embassy to renew it while in US. If they are the beneficiary, they will only be eligible for a US passport when they complete citizenship, so years from now.

I don’t really know if you can renew your passport now but I’d search more on the forum or even contact your embassy. My embassy’s webpage says I need a passport with still 8 months of validity at the moment of the K1 interview, so if I was in your position, I’d renew it now during NVC waiting. I will see if I can gather more info on this.

I don't see why you would have issues, perhaps you can email the embassy just to double check?
