Some people don't get notifications yet get receipt letter later. I wouldn't rely too much on it.

I panicked for no reason…the payment is getting taken out tonight 🤪 Thanks for all of your feedback and help!

Mailed the packet off on Monday 4:30PM ET, May 8, delivered around 10AM MST, May 9. Credit card charged today, May 11. That’s way faster than I’ve previously experienced. No text yet… hopeful to receive that and not have to wait for the NOA letter, but huge weight off the shoulders once we get to this stage!!

Update. Received my IOE based case status this afternoon!

Although it shows an error when I search the case number supplied… maybe takes a day or so to generate in the system? A little like a tracking number I guess?

Could someone assist me with the following question?

If I submit an i-751 application to remove the conditions on my residency, the processing time will vary based on the specific office center handling my case. However, during this period, I am eligible to apply for naturalization. In the event that I haven't received a decision on my i-751 application, what should I do if I want to apply for citizenship at the same time?

You apply for N-400 and let USCIS know about pending I-751 by including copy of receipt in the packet and cover letter. Then, you may have a combo interview for both petitions and decision for both. Or sometimes, you will only get interviewed for N-400 and you will have to wait for I-751 to be approved to naturalize.

Thank you so much for the answer. It was very helpful.

We received our I-797 NOA (48-month extension) in today's mail. A separate mailing also arrived with the notification that the biometrics are to be re-used, and a third envelope with the online access code. We never did receive a text message, but that was no biggie since this whole thing from start to finish took less than two weeks.

Some comments.

1) Our I-751 submission was well under a hundred pages long, and that included 4 sworn affidavits and several pages of photos.

2) The only financial ties evidence presented were three consecutive years of Federal tax returns (Married filing jointly), one joint car lease, and one shared credit card. That was it.

2) We saved $2,500 by doing this ourselves. The immigration attorney we used for the original K-1 Visa and the AOS wanted that sum to fill-out the I-751 and send it in with all the evidence paperwork that we would have had to supply her with anyway. I'm not saying that using an attorney is a bad idea, but if you're reasonably diligent and have the time you can easily do this yourself and save a wad of money.

Removal of conditions

05-02-23 I-751 sent via FedEx.

05-03-23 I-751 delivered to USCIS address in Tempe AZ.

05-09-23 Check for $680 cashed.

05-15-23 Received I-797 NOA (48-month extension). A separate letter saying biometrics to be re-used. A third letter giving online access code.

Awesome, thanks for the update! Going to check my PO Box today, hopefully my NOA got here, too!

Agree with you on the need (or lack thereof) for an attorney, but everyone's case is different, obviously! But $2500, damn!
