When might we expect an interview?

We received approval of our documentation on March 14 from the NVC. How long might it be before we get notice of the interview in Guangzhou, China? And when you get the notice of the interview, how long is it typically before the actual appointment. I would assume at least a month. It is my understanding that they arbitrarily assign an appointment time to you. Is that true?

Depends on the current backlog. I recall seeing a few recent cases get an interview notice about 6 weeks after DQ.

 

My stepdaughter went through the process in 2019 and it was:

• DQ ----> Interview Notice 2 weeks
• Notice ----> Interview  2.5 weeks

Honestly we could've used a little more time between the notice and interview, since we had to arrange vacation time at work, extra childcare, and scramble to buy tickets/hotel accommodations in 2.5 weeks as one of us had to accompany her to the interview.

Did you end up having an interview already? Currently awaiting an interview at the Guangzhou office after being DQ'd on 7/10/23 and any information on how long your interview appointment took to be scheduled would be super helpful
