Just venting here. We filed for AOS back in June 2021 via the Atlanta office. In September 2021 we got notified that we are scheduling you for your Green Card interview, we will notify you. So far nothing. When I checked the Atlanta office online last year it showed 26 months for 80% of the cases to go through for I-485 AIS. Now I check and it’s 36 months…smh.

That is the problem. You should have sent it to IL, not your local field office.

Not sure what to do here. Maybe you will need to send a new package to the correct office.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

I live near Atlanta, I didn’t pick this Office..:(

I'm assuming you have send you package to the correct office which then sent it to your local office in Atlanta since you have the correct updates on your account.

This might be of little comfort at this point but when you get your green card approved it could be for a 10 year one due to this long wait, which will exempt you from doing the even longer ROC process. Hold on to hope it will end at some point!

I filled out for AOAS on September 2021, and biometrics on October 2021 and still waiting for an interview.  I filled in Atlanta and now they have 38 months.

I married a citizen and this is taken TO LONG. Please let me know is your case changes so I can have hope that this will end soon

I feel your pain...So far we have heard nothing since the SEP 2021 notification that they were ready to schedule an interview. Fingers crossed it happens by summer.

I filed April 2022. With the current processing times, I would be getting approved July 2025 ! Or later if not one of the 80% !!

I submitted an expedite request. Chicago sent it to Atlanta to decide.

It took a few months but they e-mailed me to say my case was "ready for scheduling interview" WITHOUT actually saying whether my case was being expedited ( scheduling an interview next month or in 2025 ?? )

I asked Chicago ( as no update on MyUscis ) if expedited and received another e-mail NOT saying whether expediting or not.

I asked Chicago again and agent agreed that the e-mails were vague. He stated he was putting in a request emphasising I had not been notified of result of my expedite request.

2 days later on May 12th, I get an e-mail saying an interview has been scheduled but AGAIN not referring to approval / denial of expedite request.

The "interview scheduled" is now showing on MyUscis BUT the appointment letter is not showing under my documents.

Hopefully I get a letter this week..........

How did you file an expedite request?

Quite easy.

Just call Chicago and tell them. They ask for your reason. They submit the request electronically there.

You then get an e-mail asking for evidence. I sent my evidence to Atlanta as the decision maker and uploaded a copy via MyUscis.

Took a month for Chicago to decide it was best sent to Atlanta to make a decision. Atlanta took 2 months to ( I assume ) expedite and schedule an interview.

I say assume as nobody has actually said it was expedited - just scheduled the interview.
