Unless you are Cuban. Cuban Adjustment Act (CAA) of 1966, allows Cubans Permanent residency after staying in the US for 1 year. Additionally I have seen Cubans receiving AOS via CAA in roughly a month. The amount of evidence you need to get Permanent Residency is I-94 showing when you arrived in the country, and your Cuban Birth Certificate. That's it which is why I think the approval is such a quick process. It's an amazing immigration path for Cubans.

Hey everyone! We just got the confirmation of acceptance of the i134a. So now we've taken the next steps of creating the USCIS account for each individual, verifying biographic information, vaccination status, and attestations, and have sent the authorization request to CBP through the app. Does anyone know how long it typically takes to receive the authorization to travel? Just want to be sure i'm not missing anything that could lead to delays! Thanks for any help at all!

Can take anywhere from 30 minutes to a few days. My friend, for example, family of 4. Took 1 month, from mid/end of feb to mid/end of March

If you don't mind me asking, when did you submit the application? How long did it take you to get accepted? I filed for my wife about 2 weeks ago.

We applied for 2 out of 3 on March 2nd, and the third on March 9th. However, we got confirmation for all 3 on April 17th (1 in the morning, 2 in the afternoon). Then we had them fill out the CBP once they got home from work. My sister in law, who filled it out the earliest (April 17th) still hasn't heard back. The other 2 didn't submit their authorization until really late that night (April 17th) and yet they both got their authorization for travel approved the very next morning on April 18th. So at this point, we are just waiting on my sister-in law.

Thank you! I guess the frustrating part or honestly more so confusing part for us is why his sister was the very first to submit everything to CBP and yet only the brothers received their authorization. I just remember the delay you had written about due to the typographical and became nervous that maybe we made a mistake with hers. But for now it's only been two days so I think I could stand to have a little more patience!

 

**SIDE NOTE: My entire Nica fam had received the astrazeneca vaccine. I read that this is approved for emergency use but is NOT FDA Approved. Pfizer was not offered at the time that they were vaccinated. Is this problematic? Should they receive the pfizer as well even though they've already had a sequence of the other vaccine?

Unfortunately USCIS STILL hasn't made the correction and when the sponsors call they aren't able to give a time for resolution. Her husband and 2 kids have their travel auths but can't really do anything until someone at USCIS completes the correction for her.

 

and here's my rant........... How can that take 2 months to do! Can't anyone see this unread message in their inbox since FEBRUARY! COME ON!..........end rant

 

Regarding astrazeneca vaccines. Other Nicas have traveled via parol with Astrazeneca with no problems according to the whatsapp chat I am a part of.

2.5 months later and USCIS finally updated my friend's DOB! she's stuck in getting the CBP one app to work. Keeps coming back with an error message stating "record not found" even though all her other info is correct, passport, A number etc.. Has anyone else ran into this issue? Not sure if there's any other solution than to just keep trying until it finally works?

Seems the App has many issues, there has been a lot of negative coverage in the media

just circling back to report that my friend was able to complete the steps with CBP One this past Weds the 3rd. Found out that CBP's info doesn't automatically update when USCIS does. Someone at USCIS has to click something to update the info with CBP for the app to also have the updated / corrected info which took a few days as you can see. Thankfully it didn't take another month! Now she just has to wait for her travel auth (her husband and kids have theirs already)!
