Hi, I'm Italian and my wife was born in the US. She lived in the USA until she was eight years old then she came to Italy because her parents are Italian. She has dual citizenship. 4 years ago we applied for and obtained a green card for me by applying Form I-130. So we entered the US and stayed there for 6 months working for a US company. Then we returned to Italy for family matters and due to the Covid pandemic, we were stranded. I lost my US job and we resumed life in Italy. Having been in Italy for more than 3 years, I returned my Green Card about 2 weeks ago because it is our intention to return to the USA and therefore I want to apply for a new Green Card. My situation has not changed from 2019 to today. I have always been married to a US citizen. In practice, I will have to fill out Form I-130 and I-130a as for the last time, adding my stay in the USA. The documents to be sent are the same, but updated to the present. Does anyone have experience with a second green card? Will the process be the same or faster? Could there be obstacles due to my return of my first Green Card? Thanks  to all the people who want to waste some time reading my post.

It will work its way through the system. It may take 60 days according to the USCIS website . Not sure if you will receive anything back from them Just submit the  i 130 as usual and wait. You could include a copy of the I407, delivery notice and  an attached cover note.

No reason to delay filing.  It will all sort itself out.
