When Do I Get My SSN After Filing AoS Packet

I want to know when I should expect my SSN to be assigned/arrive at my address. I have sent in my AoS along with my EAD and Advanced Parole document. I checked off the receive SSN option on the green card application and I want to know if I'm going to receive the SSN before my green card arrives or at the same time as my green card.

 

I didn't know I could get the SSN before filing the AoS so unfortunately I'm paying the price.

You'll receive it about 2 weeks after you receive your GC.

 

You could have selected to receive it on your I765 application also which would likely have come quicker than GC.

It is usually assigned when the EAD is approved.
