Hello I just got an email that say my expedite request was approved, when should I expect my I-130 to be approved ?

Type of service requested:
 -- Expedite

The status of this service request is:

Recently, you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, to request expedited processing of your case. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

The Potomac Service Center approved your request for expedite processing. If we later decide that a scheduled interview is necessary and/or additional information is required, you will be notified by mail accordingly.

thanks.

Doesn't mean anything. Don't gold your hopes up.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

It all depends on how lucky you are to be honest. I have heard different answers from different people. I applied for an expedite in October 2022 and got the response Feb 2, 2023. It was granted... and when I researched online some people with expedite didn't really get their case looked at right away. So I wasn't really expecting to hear anything soon. HOWEVER, in my case, I received a decision the day after. So just check on your case from time to time. Good Luck!

A considerable amount of people get expedites, but it doesn't mean you're gonna jump the queue. Local embassy is key to making that determination.

What's the humanitarian reason you applied under?

I don't think it's at the NVC/Embassy stage.  The expedite approval is from USCIS, so I assume it is an expedite for petition approval.

OP:  Expedite does not mean you will get an immediate adjudication of the petition...it will move faster, but might still take a couple of months.  Once the petition is approved, you will need to submit a second expedite request to NVC to ask to expedite the visa portion of the process.
