It is favorable.  However, a visa is not approved until after the interview.  The only definite indication is when the status changes to "Issued".  Good luck.

I am currently in the US for what looks like a MUTHA of an operation (LVAD hear pump) and having this pump in me and its maintenence may well prevent me from ever going back to the Philippines.

 

The operation itself has something close to  40% "dying on the table" rate and will require 3 to 6 months of 24 hour care. They say that support from family is one of the key factors in surviving an operation like this, and she is pretty much my only available family.

 

So my question is this: Is there NY way to get an "emergency" or "medical" expidite on a spousal visa? I would be VERY grateful of someone can help me out on this topic.

I've only read one answer so far, so here's mine.  Get the office of the senior United States Senator from your home State involved.  Contact their local office.  What they CAN do is expedite a visitor visa for you wife to come and be with you through your medical emergency.  She can be allowed to stay with you until it's time to go back to Manila for her interview.  I've seen it done for a situation involving a lower leg amputation.  She didn't get there for the operation, but was there to take care of him for a few months.  (More than 6 months)

Yeah, don't buy the ticket yet, but keeping the passport is very favorable.
