  1. The application includes a co sponsor (Income on the co-sponsor is good, my income, thanks to a bunch of health challenges is not) The letter from the joint sponsor will be 3 months and 3 or 4 days old at time of application. Boundless wanted it to be "newer" but my sister (the joint sponsor) kept getting guff from the boss for being asked to update the employment letter, so to avoid further delay, we went ahead and sent it)
  2. My wife is here in the US, The application is to adjust status from a tourist visa to a spousal visa. The application is about to be submitted in the next day or so. My main question is: will we have to wait for the status adjustment to be completely finalized for my wife to be able to freely travel and/or work, or can she do these things during the application process?
  3. OK, after 6 months of putting together everything and working with Boundless (Never Again) 😕 We are finally ready to file. My question is this: I am being advised that a RFE is a pretty good likelyhood, so I am curious about something: My understanding is that, once they get the application packet, in "5 to 7 months" my wife will receive "a stamp" that will allow her to travel freely, work here in the US, etc... My question is, would the request for RFE potentially come before, or after the issuance of "the stamp"? Thanks all.
  4. I am hoping, yes, we were divorced in Fishers Indiana (Hamilton county) which is a suburb of Indianapolis (Marion county) and I have spoke with several people at both, as well as Las Vegas (Where the original marriage certificate was issued. They sent me back to Indiana...
  5. There is a divorce certificate from marriage 1 of course, the court clerk just cant find it (called about a half dozen times, and 2 or 3 different court clerks so far)
  6. No, she did plan on returning (The doctors said I needed 4 to 6 months of 24/7 family care) but the surgery was delayed and also complications, so they are saying 9 to 12 months total for the recovery (With letters from the surgeons to confirm)
  7. Hi all, I've been using Boundless (Love them) and filling out all my forms and submitting documents prepping for the adjustment of status filing, and have a question. I was married twice, and my most recent X-wife, I have that decree, my first wife (Divorced sometime between 2000 and 2004, fuzzy memory) I contacted the county we were divorced in and they have no record that they can find. How big a challenge might this be?
  8. I am looking to file an I-130 and I-485 soon (Working on putting together the money, a bunch of health problems have taken us pretty close to zero) The process and options confuse my medication addled brain pretty good, and I really think we need a lawyer or some other kind of expert. Problem (as with a bunch of areas of our life) is money. Is there such thing as a lawyer out there who has a reasonable hourly fee and can do "an hour here, and an hour there" as finances allow? My wife is here in an emergency tourist visa and it is up on Sep 6th, So I am hoping to get something going soon.
  9. I just went back and read this, for some reason I had it in my head that we needed to do an I-130 AND AOS, so simply AOS and shes good to go?
  10. By the time she did her interview, we had the doctors and the State department saying to let them know she would be applying for I-130
