Going off the spreadsheet, Nov filers may not have hit 80% yet which will put them at 16 months + so maybe it is those last 10%+

I'm very sorry deprived. Math is beyond me

Yours is the most legit speculation at this time. Hope you are correct. I’m tired of waiting……

Can anyone calculate based on the spreadsheet how long it's taken them to process 80% in the last 6 months? I'd be curious to see if the result is different

Can't screenshot it seems but both Oct and nov haven't hit 80%. I assume past months were also just short of 80% at 16 months

Also we are assuming that all the fast cases are included in the 80%. But how do they decide which ones are actually in that 80%? Do we know? Is it really the fastest 80% or is it random?

They're included but it's basically how many months until they hit 80%. Doesn't matter if they did 70% in 6 months, if that last 10% took 16 months, the number would be 16 months

Oh wow. I have never thought about it, I always assumed they wanted to show how fast they are working so the 20% would be the "out of normal processing times" cases. But what if the 20% are the expedited cases or the ones that are inexplicably fast approved?!

No they're cases that take longer

Could you explain this more, I may be too dumb to get it 😭

I'll try. My understanding is that in x time (here 16.5 months) they will have processed 80% of cases. Doesn't matter if most were done sooner, it matters how long it took them to hit 80%.

So... Let's say there's 100 cases in a month, 80 of those cases will have heard from USCIS *within* 16.5months. That may mean they heard one week after applying, may mean they heard 16.5 months after applying but by 16.5month mark 80 of them should have heard something while 20 haven't

Although it's *at least* 80% so if for some reason they approved a big batch at same time they crossed 80 threshold, they may be over 80%

Got it. You explained this perfectly! This makes sense now

There is a wiki page about this if anyone is interested https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USCIS_processing_times

Thank you for everyone trying to figure it out here! This whole thing made me confused and going forward between "I got it" and "I literally don't understand anything" haha also having parallel conversations on WhatsApp about it while also trying to reply work emails left me all crazy.

Seeing the numbers of cases processed daily, I think we shouldn't worry too much and just hope we're not left behind and if we do, that the processing times decreases so we can inquire sooner.

I honestly think we shouldn't worry too much. They have gotten if I remember seeing more than double the resources from last year AND they have improved...if it really was this bad it would've increased a lot more like the last 1-2 years. :) I think they're trying to scare us :P They don't want more people tp apply hahahah they are like gotta get everyone approved first! :P I also do remember seeing there is only a certain amount of range that gets left behind Id have to check again tho where I saw it ina  YT video!

I'm hoping normal processing will come down to 12-13 months for me so even if I'm left behind it's still like 15-16 months which isn't great but still manageable

I honestly feel like our assumptions are pretty accurate..unless they plan to slow down (USCIS if u do that Ill come in August and slap everyone D:<) I think OCT still will hear in Nov and so on :) I just dunno why they would increase it lol maybe a mistake Idk maybe we should wait for some updates/.statements from USCIS? :)
