Well finally my REF arrived today and it's not as bad as I had imagined... CSC is asking for "LAST METTING"

......Submit evidence of meeting the benificery in person within 2 year period....Such evidence may include photographs along with airline ticket stubs (the date on the boarding pass the petitioner submitted is incomplete) and recipts (that include the month, day, and year), copies of passport pages that show admission stamps, military order letter...etc.......and any other evidence that you feel will help the USCIS to determine evidence. The following DOES NOT constitute evidence of meeting: disc, video, emails, letters, phone bills and greeting cards and itinery.....

My original evidence of relationship included a 8-10 pictures of my fiancee & I together (with dates printed on the back) and a few copies of phone bills, that was basically it! Why do they want pictures again? I never send them any boarding passes as they wrote that the date submitted is incomplete? As I mentioned earlier, Cuban filings are rather complex and much of evidences other applicants use is not an option for Cuban petitioners. Most travelers discard items before re-entry to the US. eg. credit card reciepts, tickets, boarding passes....I however, can furnish copies of my frequent flyer statments for the past 2 years that include dates and flights for our meetings but I wonder if this would be satisfactory enough? I called the airline today but copies of ticket stubs or boarding passes are not saved and I purchased the tickets directly from the airline so there is no travel agency to help furnish any kind of receipts. I can furnish credit card receipts indicating the payments to the airline, would this work?....As far as passport stamps, I have none and unfortunetly, that is not an option for me. I greatly appreciate if you could think of any other proofs that I could use to satisfy the requirement and get this case moving and hopefully get it approved? I would greatly appreciate any assitance from you..... Thanks, Ischia

P.S. please don't post replies if your intentions are to critisize me or make stupid comments regarding any previous posts.

Well, now Im wondering if Ill get a RFE.....hmmmmm..... Anyways, what I sent in was about 10 photos of us together, dated and stuff on the back; a full print out of my frequent flyer account because it has all the exact dates of travel and departure and arrival info and because they dont award FF miles until you actually complete the travel; and printed copies of all my itineraries from Expedia show that I had actually purchases the tickets and again with all teh dates of travel.

Oh well if they do send an RFE, Im ready for it.... I SAVE EVERYTHING!!! hahahaha ;)

Guess we'll see but I hope it helps anyway.

ischia,

Probably the reason why they sent you an RFE was because they felt that the evidence you submitted wasn't enough to prove that you and your fiance had met within the last 2 years. Photos aren't quite enough - they're considered secondary evidence. They need something such as boarding passes, passport stamps, or other primary evidence which can correlate to the fact that you and your fiance have fulfilled the requirement.

If you booked your tickets online, do you have printed itineraries of your trips? Any kind of receipts (hotel, movies, restaurants, etc) that put you in the place where you and your fiance spent time together? Credit card statements from your bank that show your credit card being used at a particular place?

Without going into personal details that's really all the advice I can offer, but hope it helps. Good luck!

Is there someone that knows both of you and has seen you two together recently? Perhaps you could get them to write a letter or something and have it notarized. My mom wrote a letter of support stating she had met, and when. my fiance and would welcome him into our family. She took it to the bank and got it notarized. Maybe, that could be substituted for something else, if they write when they were with you?

You may also be thinking, "What do I do if I can't find any primary evidence?" The answer is that you make another trip to Cuba or meet her in another country and gather the necessary primary evidence of being in the same place at the same time. If you can prove you were in Cuba, they'll assume she was there too. If it's a third country, you'll need primary evidence she was there too.

E-mails/phone bills do not put you and your fiance in the same place and the same time

Pictures by themselves establish you and your fiance in the same place but does not establish the time

They don't want more pictures... they want evidence that will put you and your fiance in the same place at the same time and then in conjunction with the pictures to establish the "in person" meeting.

I know you are struggling for ideas but it is time to get creative as only you know what evidence you have.

My most recent reply confused your two threads. Actually, I didn't realize this was a new one with additional information from you.

I think the receipts for having paid the airline in combination with the frequent flyer statements will be helpful. If that documentation shows flights through a third country to reach Cuba, perhaps your passport was stamped in the third country? If so, that would be additional evidence. Whatever else you can think of that puts the two of you together indicating place and date will help.

Actually, I don't agree that most travelers discard receipts before entering the US, or did you mean specifically USC travelers to Cuba? Either way, if you paid with a credit card, you can show credit card billing statements that may have enough detail to show the charge was in Cuba.

There are a few other petitioners on VJ that have Cuban beneficiaries. One posted on your last thread. I think her nake is rebex (?). Maybe you could PM her or another one and ask what kinds of evidence they used. In you case, someone who is Cuba specific may be of better help to you. Good luck!
