Change of Address only allows me to change to a USA address?

Hello,

I am in the process of applying for a green card for the wife. I recently moved back to America, however, to finalize some work stuff.

She is Korean and went back to live with her family for the time being. I am trying to update and do the address change on the website, so that I can update it with her family's address.

However, the website does NOT allow me to change it to any other country, but USA. Very frustrating.

Anyone else know a solution to this? Or can tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

I am a little confused.  You recently moved back to the US, so I am assuming you were living with your spouse overseas.  Were you in Korea, or in some other country?  Are you trying to move a spousal visa application to a new consulate?

You can only change the petioner's address for your online USCIS account.

When the I-130 is approved and it goes to the NVC, you can inform NVC to assign it to the correct embassy.  They will assign it a new case number - the first 3 letters designates the embassy/consulate post.

Your wife can then list her new address when she fills out the DS-260.

Btw, you did apply for your wife's green card.  You petitioned for a spouse visa.  Your wife can then apply for the spouse visa after the petition is approved.   She then needs to pay an immigration fee for the green card after she gets the spouse visa.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I submitted the I30 petition while I was living in Korea with her.

However, I have recently moved back to America for work and we decided for her to move back in with her parents in Korea.

My previous address for the USCIS was listed in Korea since I was living there.

I wanted to change the address that I listed on USCIS, but it only allows me to list an American address. It doesn't allow me to list any other countries.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I would think that I should list her dad's address in the "change of address" location since she would need the documents since she would need to eventually go to the consulate in Seoul.

Okay, so the "change of address" doesn't really make any difference then?

On the website, it states, "If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address." I just don't want her to miss any mail that she might need. I could list my USA address I guess, but then I would need to ship it to her in Korea, so it makes no sense.

In general, it is strange that they don't allow me to list any other countries for the new address.

Thanks again!

That is for after she becomes an LPR.  By law, USCIS needs to be informed within 10 days of any change of address of permanent residents.  She is not yet an LPR.  USCIS will not mail anything to your foreign spouse during this process.

As mentioned above, AR-11 is only for immigrants already living in the US.  If change of address happens after petition filing but prior to visa application, just list the new address (whether petitioner's or beneficiary's or both) on the DS-260 and I-864 forms to be submitted at NVC stage after petition approval.  No need to update the address on the I-130 or to notify USCIS separately.
