Amazing news - congrats! The leap in the spreadsheet from March 2024 DQ to July 2024 DQ is very interesting, and gives us hope that it's still ~12 months from DQ. The tool still showing April 2024, so I guess we can't even trust that anymore 😅

Did your Ecas changed to Ready from at NVC ?

It usually changes to ‘in transit’ once the IL has been received.

The tool is only updated once a month, so it’ll be more accurate next time it updates.

Thanks everyone! From what I remember from last summer, I feel like a bunch of people got IL within weeks in a weird order. The days from my IL to interview is 60 days, which is pretty long. So perhaps April-June 2024 DQ will get IL soon with a shorter IL to interview time like the 30-45 days we often see. Rooting for you!

I’m guessing it’s because there won’t be any visas now until October for most EB’s due to retrogression and/or the category becoming unavailable until the new Fiscal Year. So there’s no point in them scheduling it earlier.

Thank you very much for your reply.

We will try and submit another police certificate if nvc does not receive our documents this week.

I guess you are from Nigeria

Regards

@Emmajapan Yes. I'm from Nigeria. All the best with your application.

That has been my guess too for the lack of updates in the last couple of months. Looking at visa issuance stats for Montreal (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics/immigrant-visa-statistics/monthly-immigrant-visa-issuances.html) from last year, the number of visas issued in EB category went down from ~60 in June'24 to ~30-40 in July & August to only 4 in September'24. Then, it jumped to ~390 in October'24.

Am I correct in thinking that the hundreds of visas that were issued in October must have received their ILs in August'24?

@Journeyman23 Yes you are right. If you look at the Google sheet there is a bunch of IL last summer on August 4, 6 and 9 for interviews in September. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NnYTWRgdQB9gj2SyQjBL3fzz5-OS9FJZQXFXCbSe0Ig/edit?gid=0#gid=0

*also, as Appleblossom mentioned, October is when a new batch of visas is issued because worldwide EB visas typically run out by mid-August. The new fiscal year begins on October 1st, so even if our interviews are scheduled for late August or September, they'll hold on to our passports and only issue the visas after October 1st. So there is a bunch issued beginning of October.
