"Application Received" Status/Tourist Visa/London Embassy

Applicant is:

- a male

- a UK citizen with valid passport

- been in the UK for 14 years

- born in Iran with no current valid passport

- has not been to Iran for 14 years

- served in Iran military (regular army)

 

Visa interview was May 4th in London. He was given a 221(g) form at the conclusion of the interview, and the information was returned via email to the consulate on May 11th. 

As of today, June 9th, the status still shows the date of interview and says "Application Received"

Looks like the consulate just forgot to update the status on CEAC. With a 221g issued, you are currently in administrative processing.

Administrative processing.  Could take quite awhile, given his country of birth.  I'd expect a request for the 5535 form for additional security checks.

They did not give a DS-5535 form, but the questions they sent him via email were basically the same questions they ask on the DS-5535 form.

As of today, still says Application Received and the last dates are both still the same as the interview date. Tomorrow is 6 weeks exactly. (minus a few holidays - I guess maybe 4-6 holidays since the interview date)
