I checked few consulates and immigrant categories IR-1/CR-1 and found website shows great improvement. B1/B2 do have massive backlog and was not my concern. Nobody knows exact anyway

This is laughable. Islamabad, Mumbai are at 12 months. Nigeria has not sent out IL's since January and are now still on Dec, 2020 DQ. Ghana starting to send out they are at June 2020 DQ.

So exactly what is caught up you say? This isn't anywhere close to official site. And the 94 a month normally. Lagos hasn't issued more than 10 in about a year. But keep the faith love how they have Normally.

Still don;t get where you even think they are caught up and almost 1/2 million cases are now magically cleared up.

 

This is the kind of false hope and nonsense fake news that depresses folks and sends anxiety on edge.

I think this website takes pre covid numbers average of cases at the embassy add them up and analyze them with the current number of cases. I checked Islamabad embassy approved higher number of cases in March 2021 more than 450ish and their average per month is 155ish . So it makes some sense to catch up the backlog. Nothing is certain with the USCIS anyway

Islamabad is 12 to 14 months now for CR1/IR1. Lagos is 16 months. Ghana was correct right at 12.5 months that was on point. But they are assuming IL's go out. Lagos hasn't scheduled since January just sitting.

The web site is using a clever script to scrape the info from  https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics.html and then graph the results over time.  So the the raw numbers are completely accurate, strait from state.gov.  It is then comparing the actual average number of visas issued over several years prior to Rona-madness to the actual number of visas issued post Rona-madness and showing what the backlog would be if the number of applications had remained constant.  But the author clearly acknowledges that it would be naïve to assume that the number of applications did remain constant.  Thus the website does provide incredibly interesting and possibly helpful information if you understand the source and limitations of what it is showing.  But it doesn't not purport to in any way show the actual length of any particular backlog.  I think it's a great, clever and useful website myself.
